I remember, I was like 6 or 7 years old (thats 1986/7). There was a show on tv called "V" for visitors. I was too young to remember plots or whatnot. All I know, was that at some point during every show there was a person who would rip the skin off of thier face to reveal a lizard like thingy. I think they wore mostly orange jumpsuits for some reason, I may be wrong about that. Does anyone remember this show? Anyway, I just saw a commercial for a remake, ABC is going to air the first episode November 3rd. Here's a link http://abc.go.com/shows/v I can't help but be a little excited about this. I wish More QUALITY remakes would be done of older tales. I really enjoyed the new "Dawn of the Dead" and the rehash of "Battlestar Galactica". A few I would like to see is a nicely done 1984, or a live version of Akira. Anyone out there have any thoughts on this totally useless thread?
of similar plot is Earth Final Conflict (minus the last season, which was epic fail) i believe i may have seen some of this, but I was tuned more toward Star Trek that came out based on my age as V came earlier 1985 (following 2 miniseries in the 2 years prior) and TNG was in 1987 when I was actually old enough to understand SciFi a little.
it ran at least a full season or two... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V_(1984_TV_series) links to the other stuff V related: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V_(TV_series)
I really liked the V series and the original mini series that started it. I'm VERY skeptical about a remake. Mark Singer and That bald headed hard ass guy are not easily replaced with the modern snopuff leading men.
A live version of Akira would pwn so much ass!! Hey -- they're remaking The Prisoner. I've always wanted a remake of Dragonball Z, with modern animation, effects, and all.
Yeah, I got some stuff for both "V" and "The Prisoner" when I was at Comic Con this year. I am definitely more interested in "The Prisoner" cause Ian McKellen reigns.
V is going to be awesome. We watched it religiously when it came out when I was a teenager and I'm just stoked that the cast is so strong and it's being penned by the fellas that wrote "The 4400," which was an awesome show.
