So this is the first component of my new HTPC that I'm going to review as it's the only piece I've had a lot of play time with. http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/keyboards/keyboard/devices/192&cl=us,en I picked this keyboard up from Fry's for $134.95 + tax. Now, the price may be a bit off-putting but for an HTPC this keyboard is fantastic. On all the research I did, I kept seeing over and over the response time on the mouse pad is lacking. I do not see this at all, granted you have to set up the mouse in Setpoint (logitech's software) but this is the same for any of their mice. The motion to response time is almost nil and I'm quite happy with it, obviously you wouldn't want to use this mouse for gaming, but that is not why it was designed. The keyboard's layout is very smooth and easy to use, the only thing I'm having trouble with is getting over the fact that the mouse is on the right side and not the center like it is with most laptops. The back lit keys, mouse, and volume control make this perfect for darkroom/theater settings. When you hold down the function key all the secondary tasks light up on the board, which cannot be seen otherwise. The board uses a Li/Ion battery, 5 minute charge gets you a 24h up time, 24h charge gets you 2 months of usage. The docking station is very attractive as well so it does not look tacky by any means. The bluetooth receiver nets me at least 30 feet of coverage through two walls without any noticed latency in it's response time. The only con I have with the board thus far is the backside of the board itself. I would've expected them to make it piano black like their stands/remotes or even the stainless steel gloss Logitech is known for using. You could also say the price tag is a con, but I have seen this board for as low at $119 but you have to look around and jump when it hits that number. I would happily recommend this keyboard to anyone that has an HTPC or is building one in the future as this will easily replace any remote/keyboard/mouse combination you will use (not to mention it's bluetooth so your HTPC doesn't even need to be in the same room as the keyboard).
