I don't have the time to go into all of this and everything I have found pertaining to this, but the speculation for Diablo 3's announement this weekend at the Blizzard World Wide Invitational could be imminent. I'll leave you guys to ponder amongst yourselves, and I'll be back in a bit with detail after detail regarding this image and what it could mean. www.blizzard.com Before I go, I'll just say this. June 29th, 2008 is the 8 year anniversary of Diablo 2, and the 7th anniversary of Diablo 2: LoD. I'll use the latter for this speculation. The teasers started Yesterday on June 23rd June 23 - D June 24 - I June 25 - A June 26 - B June 27 - L June 28 - O June 29 - 3 7 letters, 7 days, 7 years. Who knows. I'll be back after I do some work and finish my audio exam with everything else I've found (and others have found) pertaining to this.
Ok, so I have a bit more time. I'll snag a whole bunch of info and throw it into this post. First of all, you have the background image. Since I am starting this on Day 2, I only have access to the second image. (Go to Blizzard.com for a bigger image). Well, There are 2 small images located on the image, One near the left, and one towards the right. According to many people, the image on the left (released yesterday) was that of a Diablo 2 Shael rune. However today upon further inspection people found that it may be more towards the first rune on the sword Frostmourne from Warcraft Lore: The rune can be found here for your own analysis: Here As for the second rune that was found on the image today, it resembles strikingly that of the Semi-rare rune: Hel from Diablo 2. Even more speculation of the image shows a giant 3 towards the right side of the picture. I got a lot more to go through, but I need to bounce for my exam. I'll be back and finish the speculation. I got lots of websites and lots of examples that link this to Diablo 3.
There is a lot of speculation right now on what the splash screen for www.blizzard.com means. Something is coming, wether it be for WotLK or D3, we will find out in 4 days.
You know there will be a Diablo 3, everyone knows this.... My god I can not wait for this, I always loved the Diablo series... We already know about WotLK, so they wouldn't make a big deal out of that again...
a release date would be big news. Comon pdog there is more images out there. Ill post em up if you dont lol.
Source: http://www.wowinsider.com/photos/june-2008-splash-screen-speculation/879399/ This splash screen, which showed up on June 23rd, is named ice1.jpg. It's only dimly lit, but you can see a rune in the lower left hand corner, behind the ice. Many speculate that this is the Shael rune, from Diablo 2. This image appeared on June 24th, 2008. The light coming from the center is now much brighter, and you can see an extra rune in the upper right hand corner. Many speculate that this is the Hel rune from Diablo 2. This image, originally title 04.jpg, appeared in Blizzard's website files on June 23rd, when the master CSS file was called "tundra," perhaps standing for the frozen tundra of Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction. The 04 in the file name is thought to stand for the letter "D" in Diablo. This image showed up on June 24th. It appears to be another piece of an image that includes the 04.jpg, perhaps some kind of monster. The master CSS file on this day was titled "cavern," perhaps referring to the Drifter's Cavern of Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction. The 15 in the file name is thought to reference the letter "O" in Diablo.
An anonymous tipster sent us this image. He claims to see images of hell in the rune circles behind the ice -- or whatever it is. It's a bit of a stretch, but it's some fun speculation, at least.
Inverse of the splash screen I think. You can pretty much draw anything into a picture like that and make it look like the image you are trying to get at, in this case the a D3 game cover. I dont believe most of that stuff, its just fun to speculate.
Yeah, the stuff at the end of your 2nd post seemed to be reaching at nothing. I have a lot more shit though...Just can't go through it at the moment.
