This week was the launch of the games first raid, the Leviathan. We were able to get a group together on Saturday and I was able to teach 5 people how to do the boss encounters and lead them through the mechanics. We got all the way to the final boss, Emperor Calus, and although we learned the mechanics pretty well we were unfortunately not able to beat the raid. The main issue seemed to be the low levels half the team was still at. I am sure next week we will be able to do it.
We were also able to run 4 groups through the Nightfall again. This week's hard mode strike was the same strike location as last week, but had additional modifiers that made it significantly harder than last week's. Everyone was able to learn the mechanics pretty easily and no groups had any problem getting the Nightfall done.
It is nice to see everyone progressing in the game. I believe everyone is over 265 now at the end of this week. If you are having trouble leveling up, remember that only the milestones that say "Powerful Engram" will give higher level loot than what you currently are at. So the ways to level up are:
    • Complete the Nightfall
    • Complete your crucible matches on the Call To Arms milestone
    • Find Cayde-6's loot chests for a chance at a high level drop
    • Finish your clan contribution
    • Complete the raid
    • Complete the weekly flashpoint, which is public events on a specific planet

This new week is the begining of a faction rally! Pick the faction you like best and do Lost Sectors, Public Events, and Strikes to gain faction tokens. These can be turned in for faction specific gear and to gain your chosen faction glory. The faction with the highest amount of tokens turned in at the end of this week will be the winner. Those players who pledged to the winning faction get a special weapon that can be purchased for only 1000 glimmer. Everyone else who did not pledge to the faction that won will have a chance to buy that same weapon, but it will cost them 50,000 glimmer.
Just a heads up, this is the final faction rally of season 1. It is expected that armor is changing due to some new faction armor already seen in the Osiris trailer. That means this is your one and only opportunity to get this faction armor and it may never be available again.

Right now we have 10 people playing the game and people are starting to find others to group with which is good. Lets keep it going and gain a lot of faction rep this week! We will try to get on at the same time this weekend to do another raid run.

i think we can finish the raid this week. on our last run last weekend, we got calus down to 10% ish on our second damage phase, we were just a little shy of the DPS. ill also be leveling up new alts this week (titan and hunter) if anyone else wants to group up to lvl alts.

Nightfall isn't too bad this week. Even with a PUG group two nights ago we were able to clear it with a number of screw ups (near wipes).

    Advice:
Wait for your team to get close before trigger the first ring.
Have someone with higher lift/jump setup to get some of the very high rings.
Focus down the massive cabal with the rockets/launcher and the snipers before activating the second group of rings (he is ungodly accurate).
For the 3rd set (during the map part with drills) - have two people focused on getting rings and the last person running to the end on the encounter. After rings are handled the 3rd person can go to the boss room and spawn people forward (pretty sure it worked for us). Focus down the boss and it is GGs!

Another strategy for the rings Nightfall is to kill all the enemies first, then get the rings. Timer on ring destabilization doesnt start till you get the first ring.
