It's truly sad when something like this passes by without a big news article about it!

I met him once, when I still played D&D on OpenRPG, he popped into a server late one night and we started talking about the original concepts that they had come up with for D&D and about his new system that he was working on that he wanted to talk to some people about.

Was a really cool dude, really wish I could have played with him, but such is life I guess.

RIP, oh great creator of nerdly pastimes. If it wasn't for D&D many of the video games we play would be much different, or not even exist.

    We owe much to him...

Maybe Dave and Gary are playing together again....that's a happy thought.

That's rather insensitive. There would be no Darkfall if not for Dave and Gary.

bro you even know who he is? If it wasn't for them, we wouldn't have the games we play today.

yes I know who he is, its stated in the OP. =P

I was making a jab at the fact there is a new post about some guy dying every week it seems, not at the fact that the poor guy died. What was it the week before that? The guy that killed himself while trying to get off?

Even if they wouldn't have created video games it wouldn't matter to me. I live by the pretense that whatever you do not know doesn't hurt you. In the future we could be flying to work with air cars, but I don't miss it because I have never had it. Thus, if games were never created I wouldn't give two shits about it since I would not even know what a game was.

Not that I am happy that the guy died, after all, when someone passes away that should be a sad thing. was just poking fun at the fact that he is not a superstar and is, for the most part an unknown, and there were a few threads recently about people dying that fit that profile. The other guy was also an unknown, if you were to just hear his name most would probably go "who the fuck is that?"

EDIT: So basically, let me edit this and clarify that the post was meant with a light heart not to make fun of the poor guy dying, just to joke about the threads.

If you don't care, then why even reply in the first place? Just ignore it and move on. You may find it hard to believe, but there are other people on these forums who are interested in discussing things that you may not be. Not every thread on these boards requires a post from (or the approval of) Kyoji.

I never said I don't care about the thread. I don't even think I said that I didn't care the poor guy died. Like I said I was just poking fun, no need to start going on about it now. So your saying some threads do require a post from Kyoji aye? Now your talking!

Whether or not you are amused by what you may consider morbid humor is irrelevant. Just because I don't run around and give hugs and kisses to everyone doesn't mean I really am a mean person. It just means I am super sarcastic and you can learn to take things with a grain of salt or be butt hurt over random silly comments.

Oh, I appreciate sarcasm and humour of all types. But only when it's actually funny.
