    Darksiders - Xbox 360, PS3

Imagine all the best aspects of all your favorite games rolled up into one, that is what Darksiders is. I just finished this game yesterday and let me say it is one of the best non-online games I have played in a long while. It plays like zelda meets god of war, with special features like the portal gun from....portal, some panzer dragoon action and some other suprises thrown into the mix. (albeit watered down versions) Some may say Darkhorse was simply copying other games but they do it so well that it's very forgivable.

Dungeons in this game land somewhere between nail bittingly difficult and doable. There is also a very easy flow to the dungeons I often find myself at the boss fights without even noticing, every puzzle leads into the next rather nicley. I never walked away from a sitting saying "alright I finished this part I will come back later". Mostly because whenever I finished something the game was already leading me into the next part.
    10/10

Combat in this game is simple yet hard, even on normal difficulty I found certain fights in this game to be extremley difficult. Unfortunetly there are no real combos it's pretty much hack n' slash but damned if it isnt one of the hardest and most in depth. Later in the game when I got the grapling hook there were moments when I felt like I was playing devil may cry doing crazy air combos. The bosses are normally straight foward (Again very similar to zelda type boss fights) the most difficult fights were probably the horde like minion fights, there are certain enemies that can take away 2-3 health bubbles (think zelda hearts) in a single attack. There were times when I would say "oh shit" after mowing down a mob of enemies only to have 3 of the bigger enemies spawn right after.
    10/10

Story is pretty generic, the world ends and you are to blame and are set out to prove you are innocent. If you like the whole heaven verse hell thing you will probably enjoy the Darksiders take on it. I wont say much more because I don't want to give away any plot twists.
    8/10

Graphics are the only downside to this game in my opinion, they remind me too much of WoW. There have also been some issues of screen tearing which I did not see on my play through.
    7/10

    Final Verdict: 88 B+

(My calculations are based on what I think is important in a game, graphics are 20percent, content is 25percent, combat is 25percent, story is 30 percent)

Thanks for the review on this. I was wondering how this game was, since I was contemplating preordering it, since it looked like it had potential.
