If more than 10 people at a time can purchase the game I will try it out. I enjoyed the first and while it did have some issues with it that I didn't like, such as time to level a skill, I still enjoyed the premise. That is more I can say about many other games. Guild Wars 2, Planetside 2, TERA, and Blade and Soul are all potentially amazing games, however, each are still imperfect (IMO) much like how DFO was originally. GW2 separates PvP and PvE and lacks the hardcore element for my niche tastes - also WvW is sad when compared to Darkfalls city siege implementation when you consider the things that could be upgraded and how in depth the different cities were (no 2 alike). This is also the case in Planetside 2 where one compound is the same as another and the fact there is no real way to upgrade your defensive position means it turns into a flip fest. TERA and B&S were games to be played while in wait for a true hardcore game anyway (for me anyway).

Hopefully they learned from their mistakes and created something good.

I'm defiantly giving it ago. The first one was anything but perfect but it had more potential than I have ever seen any other game have.
I do actually believe that they have leaned from the first one and have the chance of making a truly incredible game here.

Not sure of my plans for DarkFall2.0 however as I know some of the leaders of DF1's top guilds and they have been asking me to join them again (I used to be a well renowned officer in DF1). However see how things go, it may be an option to pull everyone together under a coalition type setup. Darkfall and politics, fun fun fun.

I wanted to play the first one, but I didn't get to. However I think Archeage might be better.

Only problem with that is waiting for an English publisher. It would take some time for translations and westernization, but yeah Archeage is something I am looking forward too.

It's made by what I would consider an indie developer - a small developer.

The reason to play Darkfall 2 would simply be if you liked the idea of Darkfall but want a game that might actually accomplish what you envisioned with the original.

The game revolves around FFA open world PvP with true world PvP elements, guild cities that can be built, upgraded and sieged. It is a game where when you are killed you lose everything and he enemy player takes it all. You are required to aim to shoot and swing attacks.

IMO if they can push out a finished product and allow everyone to buy the game it could be one of the best games of all time for PvPers and even PvEers with the new dungeon content.

I will probably pick it up

Darkfall never had much in common with WoW, and I don't expect the second to either. It's basically an open-world, no-rules sandbox - so first and foremost massive-scale PvP (sieges and all) with PvE thrown in on the side. If you've played GW2 WvW, it's a bit like a much bigger version of that, with pretty much everyone on the same server - oh, and it's close to a free-for-all. No hard-coded factions, just guilds and their alliances. No scoring either. It's all about who takes, and holds, a city.

The original had so many flaws it just wasn't as good as it sounded though (probably the biggest is that it's way too grindy, though I don't know if that's set to change; but the many little issues weighed it down too). Even then, I don't expect the game type to be universally appealing; the "hardcore world PvP" style isn't for everyone, myself included these days (no time). But if you like it, and if these guys can get it right this time - by no means a sure thing - might be worth paying attention to.

As someone who has released been playing WoW again to check out new features, I can frankly say that in this age of developing there are few people who are graphics whores and base their decisions on it. Hundreds of thousands of people play Minecraft/League of Legends and none of these games feature outstanding graphics. Guild Wars 2 which has a very nice artistic style and beautiful level design was ultimately let down by one dimensional and simplified gameplay. Darkfall 2.0 is a good idea, the real question is whether or not the are making the right choices to appeal to hardcore players while making the game still learnable and fun for new players. Something Eve Online struggled with for a long time (and still does).

Acutely MC allows you to change your texture packs to better ones and also mc is running off java and was meant not expected to blow up as big.... so that argument out the window.

Now LoL you do know they are slowly upping the visual effects of skills and champ also the maps. There alot of players that can play LoL on max setting LOL.

Again this day of age things should not look like your playing a N64 game.... but clearly people still play on toasters

...I listed two common examples of modern games that lack next gen graphics but feature interesting gameplay to make up for these faults. Would you like me to reach into my bag and pull out many..many...more. The fundamental thought of the previous post was not that graphics can be changed for older games(they can, hence black mesa), or that many people use older computers(it is fine, usually they are spending their money on more cost efficient things) it is that gameplay will always trump graphics for a large majority of the gaming player base.

Gameplay is the core feature of any game. Chess if upgraded to 3D Holospace with explosions while being awesome, is still chess.
