Epic Boss fights, super in-depth character customization, unlimited re-playability (Max level is 745!). VERY challenging but it makes it that much more rewarding when you get past an area or defeat a boss.

Dark Souls is a third-person action RPG sequel to the not as well-known game, Demon Souls.

I'm on my second play-through, every time you start a new play-through you gain more exp from monsters and the difficulty increases. With your gained experience you play through a little faster but it also makes Boss Fights, with their ramped-up difficulty and new tactics, a little more interesting.

If I had to compare it to any games, they would be Soul Reaver and Shadow of the Colossus.

    Anyways, here's some footage:

Simply put, just a great RPG. Highly recommended if you're planning to play GW2 or TERA, since they're going to be Action MMORPGs.

After reading about this game and Demon Souls I think it COULD be a lot of fun but I would be increasingly frustrated by the "hard mode" mechanic - that is so refreshing in games now a days and I applaud it - but scared of it at the same time.

The game is insanely hard. Even more than the fucking Alma fight in Ninja Gaiden. But yeah, it's definitely hard. I respect that From Software decided to not cater to the gamers and actually make a game that enables that sense of accomplishment so perfectly. Each demon I killed (except that stupid Butterfly demon - too easy), I ended up jumping up and down and cheering myself on. Don't be fooled, though. There are areas with a narrow walkway over a pit, with pendulous blades swinging back and forth hindering easy strolling, and mobs from a higher tier shooting lightning at you - plus a fight at the end - AT THE SAME TIME. Shit like this WILL make you pull your hair out. But when I cleared that area, I ended up paying myself in beer and smiles.

You should at least give it a try, I'm pretty sure you can find a used copy at Gamestop for like $30.

I haven't made it to Lord Gwyn (Last Boss) on my 2nd play-through yet, but I can't even imagine how hard he will be.

    Spoiler?

    He's just a ruthless asshole.

I love this game, I play it on the Xbox 360. Sadly though I never really get summoned to fight other players :(
