1. Character Name, Class, and Main Spec: Corpulent, The enhancement shaman. 2. Armory Link: (and talent choices explained): http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Sargeras&cn=Corpulent The talents chosen are the current "cookie-cutter" spec for enhancement. A few points can be swapped around for a bit more personal dps IF the buffs provided were redundant. 3. List raid helpful professions: Jewelcrafting with over 45 epic cuts, Pot spec'd alchemy on another toon as well as maxed enchanting. Corps professions are JC and Engineering. 4. Time playing WoW and PvE progression: I've been playing since vanilla and have been raiding since late BC. As far as progression guilds go I've only been a member for about a year and a half. 5. Describe your method for theorycrafting your class: My personal method is to be well researched. I read multiple sites regularly regarding my class. Also, I use rawr and enhsim to maximise my gear and personal dps. 6. Age (18 is required with limited exceptions): 29 7. Occupation and living arrangements that impact raiding(family, classes, dorm, night shifts etc): I'm an army vet that is currently supported by his wife. Yes, I'm a house husband who stays home with our baby. 8. Guild you are leaving and why: (If you join another guild without following up here, application will be closed): I'm leaving <BiS> in search of a real raid leader. I need a more structured raid environment that I'm just not getting over there. 9. How did you hear about us? List any friends/references within the guild: Other than seeing the Xen guild tag for many years now I've been speaking with tunasaladin regarding membership. He did not headhunt me. I expressed my interest to him during a recent 10m we were running. 10. List consumables you bring to raid: Flasks, speed pots and spare fish feasts. 11. Any Scheduling conflicts (consider possible weekend groups for 10mans): None 12. Provide measure of your damage/healing such as Recount (Screenshot to include player breakdown of attack %'s), WoW Web Stats (WWS), or World of Logs listing: http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/3l13hki6cm3mwu53/sum/damageDone/?enc=bosses 13. Provide a UI screenshot: 14. Final comments you feel could help your application: I'm a friendly player that likes to joke and laugh. But, I like to get shit done too. So, when it's time to do work... Let's do some work.
Question one: why did you pick the AP totem over the haste totem? Question two: why do you have the 2 points in imp SS but not the fire nova glyph? I know you wearing leather and it kinda gimps your mana pool so i can see why, when was the last time you checked up on your spec? Few things to note the boots are a good pick for making caps when not an orc so i can understand your spec and the need for the imp SS and mana active but with the 2 t10 that you have your using SR on cool down do you still notice that you need the 2 points out of imp SS or would you put it into imp shields, i understand that your haste is in the 500 range so the shields isn't as good for you as it is for my self. Also have you seen the new BiS list on EJ with the leather chest the best way to make caps due to the amount of exp it has.
Q1: A few reasons I suppose. First off, with my current gear setup the AP totem is a whopping 2 dps better on paper. Secondly, my personal thoughts on the new haste totem would be that any gain you possibly pick up from the added haste would be lost and then some by losing a GCD to Flame shock as opposed to our standard Earth Shock. Q2: I'm not sure if you're like me but my GCD's are one of my most precious resources as an enh shaman. Losing yet another one to an additional FN would be too much I think. Initially, I ran some personal tests in heroics(bad idea I know) as well as in a raid environment. The result was a significant loss for me. I didn't do anything close to a thorough amount of research. But, the inital test turned me off enough to drop it and never look back. Also, I think Rouncer answers the question best here http://elitistjerks.com/f79/t37752-enhancement_glyphs_numeric_comparison/p12/ @post #297 Q3: How often do I check on my spec? Hmmm, I'd say often. I'm assuming you ask that because you think there is something wrong with my spec. The only increase to dps on paper I can see is to pull points out of improved SS and put them into Imp Shields. As it stands now I'm pushing the limits of my comfort zone with my mana pool. At times (especially on moving fights) I'll find myself dropping below 20% and rarely I'm critically close to being OOM. According to the last logs I checked my shields are roughly 3% of my dps on all boss kills. To run even more risk of being OOM to try and squeeze another percent or two of damage isn't worth it to me. If I'm OOM for even one GCD I'm at a net loss for the fight. Something was brought to my attention though. According to the BiS rawr that was last given on EJ my spec is identical except for one point. He has 1 point in ImpSS and one point in clearcasting. And now since FN is a significant part of my mana that may be worth checking out. So, thanks for making me look closer. Even though both specs do nothing to increase dps on paper it will put me further INTO my comfort zone, keeping my eyes on my surroundings instead of my mana pool which is a potential dps increase indeed. Also, about the chest and my current boots. I've been trying to gear out of these feet since ICC opened. I have "better" boots. They're higher ilvl anyway. I have a ring with exp on it from ICC. I've even tried running the sim with the chest you suggested as an option. My current boots are still coming out on top. I have found an option in the crafted boots from ICC. But, I just can't seem to justify spending 10k or however many thousands on a 10dps upgrade. Also, I just haven't seen it drop yet(the chest). If nobody needed it I'd certianly take it to open up my options even further.
I've been feeling guilty for leaving behind my old friends that I've been raiding with for over a year now. And finally my conscience has gotten the better of me and I've decided to stick it out with my old guild. I truly regret wasting your time in the whole process and appreciate the chance to raid with you guys. I wish you all the best of luck.
best of luck with BiS, they are still a good guild. maybe the raid leading will get better and provide you with an enjoyable place to run.
