CNET Accused of Bundling Software Downloads with Trojans

    I haven't used CNET in a long time as I prefer to download directly from the developer's website. However, I did assume they were a trusted website so this is disappointing news. I hope Nmap wins their case against them.

    Annoying yes. Trojan no. The article says that McAfee and others classify the toolbars as trojans but McAfee and all those other shitty anti-virus call EVERYTHING a trojan.

    I did notice that when I had to download some codecs from it that I had to DENY about 4 or 5 random pos toolbars and a McAfee install until I got to the media player codec installs. I guess it forces people to finally read the user agreement heh.

    I 100% doubt that there is an actual trojan that came from CNET. Just shitty toolbars and anti-virus.
