So I picked up Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, and you should too. Medieval FP Slasher. Complete with really gritty beautiful graphics, and chopping off limbs. Objective based rounds, Team Deathmatch, King of the Hill, Last man Standing, FFA, whole lot of fun to go around. Has a very in depth skill based combat system with weapon combos, block combos, kicks, feints, manual dodging, and jumping over attacks. Swords, axes, hammers, spears, daggers, bows, crossbows, and if all the violence with weapons isn't your thing, you can be a boxing champion. Four classes, several different weapons for each class. All have very different characteristics. You'll find weapons you absolutely love, and those you just can't figure out how people are killing you with them. It's available on Steam for $25, or on the dev's website direct at http://www.chivalrythegame.com/ . Their forums are full of devs posting known bugs, a community actively reporting bugs, and the devs laying out exactly what they are working on as the game moves forward. Also they are allowing custom content. Maps, Mods, custom servers.. all that good stuff. Point is, if you had at all any interest in the past for a good first person sword fighting experience, this is a great gem for only $25, and it looks like it'll be only made better as time goes on. If anyone else has bought, put in your steam ID and lets go chop some heads off together. SteamID: onesixty2 edit: @7:25 Found a great clip of one of the Dev's tutorial videos. A 1v1 duel where he explains what he is doing, extremely helpful to learn from, and a great show of what manual control in combat means. Note this is tutorial 2, you can find the basics here.
I loved the original. Don't really have time to get it yet, but later on I will be looking at picking it up.
I got this and War of the Roses with Sokar ... the melee combat goes to War of the roses same with gore and MP maps / mods ... Archery and graphics and overall fun go with War of the roses thou ... im down to play anytime
I want to know how he changes between the good graphics and the shitty ones. I've checked the game and my shit is on max and the graphics don't look anywhere near the good parts of those videos. Chivalry is very basic and fun to hack away in. War of Roses is also fun but takes more mental power. Just depends on the mood you are in.
Well if you look at the "combat training" video the first duel the graphics look fine. If you look at the second one the graphics look like crap. There's a definite switch between graphic modes. Even the guy with the fists has good graphics compared to what you can get ingame.
We need to do a game night of this, @s o k a r @Erock @Rumor and whoever else has this. Love this game, the kill the king mode is the best "omg kill the king whos the king?" "shit im the king! shit shit shit protect me!"
Been watching this: http://forhonor.ubisoft.com/game/en-US/home/index.aspx Looks a LOT like Chivalry... http://forhonor.ubisoft.com/game/en-US/media/index.aspx#
