The Offspring and Disturbed have both released new albums relatively recently. Disturbed released 'Indestructible' and The Offspring released 'Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace'.

Disturbed's CD is similar to their other stuff, but is phenominal still. My favorite song on the CD is Indestructible. Song on youtube (no video)

The Offspring's CD is perhaps one of the best album's I have ever heard. The songs have fantastic lyrics for starters, and it just generally sounds good. It sounds like some of their previous stuff, but just enough to be able to tell that it's The Offspring. My favorite song is You're Gonna go Far Kid. Song on Youtube, no vid . Its a unique song, since its about a school song done through the eyes of the shooter.

MMM... I bought the new Offspring and I love it. It's lacking the normal gimmick song that I usually hate but the radio and all the teeny-bopper retarded 16 year old girls seem to love (Pretty Fly, Hit That, Original Prankster, etc). Though to be honest I like some of those every now and then. Ixnay's Intermission is such a great song and leading right into the amazing All I Want. I also really enjoyed Why Don't You Get A Job. Usually what happened with me and The Offspring is they release a radio song that is catchy/funny and I don't care for it other than its The Offspring and they are great. Then they release a song the radio forgets about but I love.

Example: Smash - Radio loves Self Esteem and Come Out and Play. I love Gotta Get Away
Ixnay - I love it all (does not apply)
Americana - Radio loves Pretty Fly. I love Why don't you get a job and The Kids Aren't Alright (plus most of the cd).
Conspiracy - Original Prankster (radio). Want you Bad (Me). Want you bad is such a great song but the radio (at least in Iowa) never played it due to Original Prankster.

I guess I just think the radio sucks (though I love my Sirius).

Overall: It's a very good cd, it took a few listens before I was really into it. The best is still Ixnay... It's so hard to top that cd. If you like The Offspring you will like the new cd.

I've listened to a little of the new Disturbed, but not enough to review.

Just listened to the new Offspring CD, and frankly...Its really well done. I did like some of their stuff in the past, but this is an overall good CD.

I was a little disappointed with the new Offspring album. Musically it feels a lot more watered down, though still plenty polished and competent. It just didn't feel as creative or inspired as their previous stuff (Smash and Ixnay are still my dominant favorites). Lyrically, however, it is brilliant and probably the most consistently good of all their albums. So it's good overall, just felt a little like a step in the wrong direction. Not to mention they're a good 5 years late for a political bitch album. :p (also not sure why they felt the need to do a Linkin Park song "A lot like me" and a greenday song "R&F,R&G"... they need to take a tip from Trent Reznor on how to grow old 'gracefully' with your music methinks.)

New Disturbed is par for the course. Nothing really jumped out at me but it delivers plenty good on the grunt n' thrash. I just hope they can recapture some of the spontenaity and cleverness of their first album. 10,000 fists came closest.
