He sounds very convincing. I like that he will put in his 2mil into this game ontop of what they'll fund. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/13861848/camelot-unchained?ref=live
I read the entire description and it sounds too good to be true. Have to see what happens. I like that housing is one of the three pillars they are focusing on.
There are some interesting things in there. Like making a tablet port as a stretch goal, or a player run shop system for trading that I might actually tolerate. Camelot Unchained has my attention. The worst part about that kickstarter page is this: And that's only because I'm not aware of MMO client that has DRM (the always active internet connection and heavy server side processing that MMOs require doesn't count), making this an odd claim to see.
I am in as well, I missed the old DAOC days from Beta and on. Was good times and good communities back then !
Listening to his combat explanation and his adamant hatred of stealth classes makes me not want to play. Daoc without stealth groups would have been a lot more boring.
No, poor wording on my part. I just REALLY enjoyed stealthers. I also enjoyed getting into intense fights out of nowhere by running into a trap stealthers set.
┬──┬◡ノ(° -°ノ) Okay, okay. Tables were flipped prematurely. I agree though. DAoC-type RvR combat wouldn't be the same without stealthers. Especially if they're going to involve keeps and siege warfare, with the whole climbing and assassinating archers/mages bit, which was hilarious. I can still remember sneaking up with my Infiltrator and Perforate-Artery-1shot a weak mage in Thidranki. Good times!
If you can get 30 people interested. At $56 per person you guys can get this one. (It comes with 30 digital copies) https://s3.amazonaws.com/ksr/assets...07e822da3a0ac18955a89748_large.jpg?1366038805
That's actually pretty interesting. Unfortunately, I still think it's too early for me to throw money at this. As much as I loved DAoC, I have to admit, I feel there'd be missing something without a PvE part -- Especially when it's a subscription based game. I can't imagine myself paying 15 bucks a month for "just" the RvR part of DAoC, only rewamped (and possibly, unfortunately, dumbed down to appeal to the masses).
Well that package comes with 6 months subscription free. So its like basically buying a full copy of the game and having a 6 month trail period.
Good point. I still think I'll wait till they come up with a little more detail about the game. That is, unless we actually manage to find 29 people, and I'm the last person to pitch in
My butt is still hurt from Mark Jacobs and co selling out to EA and the debacle that Warhammer turned into. Just reskin daoc 2 and upgrade combat and let us have at it!
