One of the things that came out of HA this evening was we had a few members on that were interested in the Guild wars 2 5v5 eSport Format. and that those interested should game together more to build communication and team cohesion and that Guildwars One GvG is going to be our Game to play untill GW2 ships. So this is a Call out to anyone interested in the Competive Format in Guildwars 2 and whom also own guild wars one to Join us for some team building in the guild hall Time : 6PM EST Place : XoO Guild hall Intention is stating with the upcoming month to obtain enough QP's to participate in the March 2012 Monthly Automated Tournament (MaT). The current State of the game is 3/3 gets a Bronze Came Trim 4/2 earns a Silver. There is absolutly no Reason why Xen of Onslaught should be going a month without a Trim around it's Flag in GW 1. This is your call out to make XoO the Strongest Guild Entering and if not ever to play Guild Wars 2. I hope you can Join us upon this Quest.
GW1 esport team*? I think its a great idea, but after GW1 it'd probably be best to cross-train other games.
It is mainly about Getting to know each other better the most sucessfull Guilds in Guilwars were Such because they came in knowing each other's play style from playing in other games GW 2 is not going to change that. Why so many times? Lets face it we are not just walking into AT's and expecting to earn the QPs required to MaT we need to ladder and Get Good again.
One reason why I'm playing Tera, it has the same general mechanics as GW2. Loving Tera too, kinda glad some developers are thumping their heads against a desk to produce something useful.
Hmmm, well I'm interested in GW2, but not on a Ranked level. I'd really want to take part in the WvWvW, and I'm under the impression a lot of XoO members interested in GW2 will be more aiming at the WvW game type, due to it's much more massive appeal. Ranked games require a smaller, isolated pocket of people and a lot of practice. Many XoO members enjoy semi-casual play, myself is one of them as I do not have time to practice and devoting myself to ranked matches. Perhaps we should puts our efforts into ensuring we have a strong presence in WvW first? Since we can access that as early as level 1, and then build up our Ranked Team as things progress in the game? Some may argue that perhaps it'll work better to be on the ranked leader boards, and to get the name high up to be seen that'll bring in the numbers. Perhaps that too is true, perhaps we can do both at the same time? I like that you're putting this together, and not at all saying it's a bad idea. I for one just like casual PVP.
XoO should strive to be the best across the board, not just in a participation orientated situation. In GW1 XoO was frequently one of the best pvp guilds across ALL formats and that is the way to carry on. Not everyone will be able to participate in the eSport side, but they will be needed to some degree to assist those who do, anything that helps promote XoO in a positive manner in the gaming community is a definite bonus, and can increase the amount of contributing members within our internal community.
We have membership that has showed desire to be competitive in PvP beyond the WvWvW format. If you are not aiming higher than WvWvW that is fine but we have membership that is aiming higher as as one of them I plan on seeing that we are sucessfull in every way possible in achieving those goals.
WvW is easier, if you know what I mean. It's three servers at once, and what you don't have in raw player skill you can make up for in numbers and co-ordination. Success there is pretty much inevitable for XoO since that's what we're geared to these days, but that's not to suggest we shouldn't have co-ordinators for WvW too. Anyone who wants to pick that up, feel free.
Oh BTW this is not a WvW vs Competive thread this is a thread for 5v5 no more hijack please. That's what I am doing, building a team. were going to need some rock stars to represent
I am hesitantly interested. I would like to be able to play a bit of the 5v5 in beta to see if it has enough depth and a wide enough fundamentals that it doesn't end up a repetitive point grind.
Secksy recruited me in last night. I have a bunch of IGN's, but the main is Myrmidian Eudoros, and on TS I have the same ID as here on the forums. I chatted it up with some of the guys after joining and got some of the info on the HA build. I'll have a DD ele rolled up and ready to go if you need me.
I have to do a family thing this afternoon with the wife and kids, and will probably not be able to make it for the start time, but I think I should be in game by 7:45 EST. Sorry guys. Hopefully we will still be going when I do make it.
Why I'm playing Tera atm, besides that it's a fun and PvP oriented game. It is similar to GW2 mechanics, I wanna bring my A game into GW2.
