Time played in WoW and PvE achievements/accomplishments: I've been playing wow since October, 2008. 1 month before Wrath expantion came out. I do consider myself a newb on certain subjects but I know how to play my class and how it works with current release. Occupation outside of WoW and any scheduling issues it creates: I work as an IT desktop support for an International company (contact center) it usually doesn't give me any problems. There are however some days were I end up working over 33 hours straight and I do inform about those days. 8. Your old/current guild and why you are leaving them (Include old guild's name or we could think you've joined them and dismiss your app): Guild name is Impact and the main reason of why I'm leaving is that there is no more progression going on for the past month. there was going to be some new changed this week or movements to break that curse but it didn't happen and last night (patch night) I had to do a Naxx 25 instead of new content like I wanted. 9. How did you hear about Xen; list any references within the guild: Some of my old guild mates are there now (Zoeiy, Peppershaker) main reference is tho Imilkonu thats how I learned about Xen. 10. List consumables you carry to raid to include food when a fish feast isn't provided: As I said previously before I carry my own food (Mammoth Meal) when feast is not available. Endless Rage flasks aswell. 11. What conflicts do you have with our raid schedule listed above? None, is almost identical to the one I'm currently doing now. 12. Submit a damage/healing meter or WWS link. (If one is not available, explain why): All I can say is that i can pull above 3.5K+ dps mainly bc i tend to lag a lot with my new connection :*( planning to swith tho. I dont have WWs client to use of my own. When it comes to addons I'm a complete newb, I only carry what I should use. 13. Provide a UI screenshot inside a raid (If one is not available, explain why): My main addons are Recount, Bartender, Watcher, Atlas loot, and DBM always updated. I'm Planing on adding X-perl. I cant post a screenshot since I'm at work right now. 14. Final comments you feel could help your application: Basically I'm an easy going guy, loyal and I dont mess around during raid time. I dont mind being tested and competition imo is always good to have specially being the new guy. I follow instructions to the letter and always accept leaderships decitions in all subjects. I just recently leveled a Priest as well so if there is any use to him that i can bring I dont mind rerolling. I go or whatever is best for the guild always.
sorry for not posting any followup for a couple of days now. you have a decent application. im wondering about your spec and how you determined it would be the best for dps and it would be good to see your actual data for dps as we are attempting hard modes and strong coordinated dps is required. also, it concerns me that the latency isn't the only thing holding back dps. lack of crafted items and not having done any regemming since the patch means you are outgeared by alts in our guild
I have a few questions for you. Why did you choose to maximize expose weakness and hunting party without putting a point into gftt first? Your pet will be focus-starved. Why not glyph of feigh death? It's an easy -5 seconds on your threat dump. Also with your MM spec again why not gftt? And serpent glyph isn't a bad idea there. It just looks like both of your talent specs have a few holes in them. Have you taken a break since patch released? Looks like you've been running ToC. I don't see any epic gems, which would be especially beneficial for a SV hunter and with the ease of farming conquest now it shouldn't be much of a problem to grab runed orbs and snag a boe belt / boots. Every raiding guild should have a LW with the recipes and I'm sure would be happy to help you out.
I did take a break with my hunter after doing naxx. I just wasn't feeling it anymore. And so I started farming ToC with my priest and running dungeons to gear him up. On Saturday I started back again on him ran 10 man ToC with ESL and that bosted me up to continue with him. I COMPLETELY AGREE with the gemming. Im lacking and I'm slowly purchasing them since they are really expensive (i dont have that much gold on me) and ive started farming for badges yesterday. Now to the spec: GFTT is not really that necessary imo for my wolf. Fangs only uses 2 abilities that require focus and they are bite and howl. and since howl is trigger once every 40 seconds i have on everytime it pops. Expose warkness: I like to be 100% sure that I'll have that up there throught the entire encounter. There isnt any other explanation for it just makes me feel safe to have 25% of my agil as attack power like if it were a 3rd trinket . Hunting party: Again like the 100% chance that is staying there for the whole raid constantly this proc doesn't only benefit me but all casters aswell. Moreover is a 3% increase on my total agility witch means more AP and more Crit. Glyph FD: I'll put FD on that empty slot but I hardly really ever use FD and that only happens when the tank can't hold aggro. Unfortunetly I don't have LW on my guild or even JCs that can do epic gemming and/or Ulduar patterns. And even if i get mats I would still have to pay for the crafting. Like I said before my hunter is poor . I am currently working on it tho, going 100% back on my hunter till I have him maximized. Finally I would try to set up a WWS client for tonight or tomorrow for Ulduar which I believe Impact is trying to do again. And will post links for results ASAP.
Even recount results would be fine too... Expose weakness should be up always with 5/5 MT and high 30s to 40% crit even without 3rd point in it. I'm not sure what the drop is for maxing HP at the loss of GftT, but I believe putting a 2nd point in HP over IAotH was somewhere around a 30-40 dps loss and you're haste is around where mine is (though crit is around 4% lower and AP is about matched when trinket is charged for you). The % of agi isn't as big a boost as having a proper rotation. Also, without Aim Shot, it seems like you'd be doing a lot of extra steady shots which almost aren't worth the mana vs just auto shot unless you are actually haste capped (which you won't be unless you spec IAotH and SS just during that proc)
I wanted to post a recount last night that I did on a dummy but i felt that wasnt good enough for what ur asking. You said that the dps you need should be based on coordination and raid balance. And that is what I'm gonna give you. Tonight Impact is doing Ulduar I believe. i will get stat for every boss fights that we do. Moreover I will also change the spec with the suggestion you and Olighai threw to see if there is any difference. As you can also be seing I started gemming my gear with the new gems however since they are so expensive i need to be careful on what to gem. Currently i have both my conquerors gemmed and since im a few badges away from the Head piece Im saving another gem for that. PS: If ur wondering what my rotation kinda looks like is the following------> SerS, BA, ES, MS, SS and then keep SerS and BA up; and spam SS until MS or ES are available again.
Armory looks to be updated with your gems but possibly your spec isn't yet. So I apologize if you've made some changes but I have more questions. Why are you using serpent sting ahead of black arrow or even explosive shot? You are losing dps right there. As a survival hunter your highest dps shots are: 1. Kill Shot 2. Explosive Shot 3. Black Arrow 4. Aimed/Multi-Shot 5. Serpent Sting 6. Steady Shot Without going into too much detail, steady shot is basically just a filler, rarely to be used unless nothing else is available. So, why did you choose that rotation and why did you choose to glyph steady shot over something else like kill shot? Btw all I had to do was google hunter survival dps to find this info. EJ has a lot that might interest you. I just don't think you're what we are looking for in a hunter.

While keeping SerS (NS speced), BA and glyph of SS the SS can actually do quite the damage talking about 19% damge increase on SS. SerS and BA are not priority that is just how I open my rotation priority is Kill Shot and ES (thats how i have it set on watcher). It used to be SerS and then ES with BA but recently the proc for LaL increased 2wice what it used to be is proccing around 15% and is nice to have right away to start with massive dps. Finally to answer the question of why i do SerS and BA First to open is bc NS spec and the damge increase additional from BA aswell I like my ES to start as massively and it always does.
why would you glyph that way? SS is a filler shot, so dropping the duration of your sting which has to be applied for that glyph to function anyway seems like extra work in your rotation and im not sure about your gear, but its I believe a 29dps drop for my gear. Running a heroic earlier: 2944.1dps 36.2% Explosive Shot 301shots 60.1%crit 22.2% Auto Shot 253shots 50.6%crit 9.7% Kill Shot 27shots 59.3%crit 9.4% Volley 164shots 56.1%crit 7.0% Aimed Shot 57shots 54.4%crit Now, mind you, I was pulling agro hence the Autoshot numbers, but Steady Shot was below Serpent Sting DoT, Pyro Rocket gloves, and Explosive trap even. Im sorry to say, i agree with Mr Olo on this one. We're trying to progress hard mode Ulduar and having to teach and gear up someone for just general theorycrafting for spec glyph rotation probably doesn't help us out a lot. Guild applications are one of the biggest ways to up your game. You just probably increased your dps by several hundred regardless of latency with these changes, but I hope you take the lesson from this as checking out theorycrafting websites and updating your self before you apply instead of after. If you have more questions about Survival hunter'ing, feel free, but I think we're going to have to decline the application for now. Perhaps when you've got yourself ready and have better net connections you can reapply if you're still a "guild hunter" then.

While I aggre in some points and not all of why the application was declined I'm still gonna post as I promised my dps on Lord blah blah (sorry dont remember name) from the tries we had on him. we wiped in all of them; lol so that might be answering the question (were is Kill Shot) Again thank you for you time guys. good job on the dps. keep in mind that the application was denied mostly because of the lack of dps (the app quoted 3.5k for instance) and the mention of less than stable connection. which fight was that for?
he said he was the top one. given our attendance over the last few nights and looking to be 1100+ higher dps than the app originally stated, i may have to reconsider our availability. i'd like to discuss over vent at some point a few of the gem and enchants you still have as well as maybe bring you in on a 5 or 10 man
Sure I dont any problems at all but since is friday and saturday is family time days (or my wife will kill me) Im only gonna be able to be in Vent and WoW on sunday around 7 pm server time. I mean i might pop up today and tomorrow but that is only gonna be when my kid and she are asleep and i cant use vent cause i wont be able to make a sound
