I have a pearl right now and I love it. I'm waiting for a full featured curve model though before I upgrade.....or the storm 2 if they decide to put wifi, gps and 3G all in the same package. I could never go to another phone after having my BB though. It's an awesome little tool. I have everything on it, even a graphing calculator for those odd moments I need a graph of some stupid function. Nearly unlimited data is awesome. Getting all my emails right to my phone and have internet access on demand is wicked.

Yeah right now my phone had the the old unlimited data plan so some features work but not all features are working, like youtube etc.. So I am going to have to upgrade to sprints BB service to get all of it.

I have the 8820 but the internet on Blackberries leave alot to be desired. The Bold isn't much of an upgrade either.

I've never had a problem with the internet on my blackberry? What seems to be the problem? I use opera mini 99.9% of the time and the native browser only when there is a link that needs to be opened or I want on youtube. I have also tethered with my laptop and it runs great. Not a single problem once I had the whole thing setup properly. I also browse these forums on the berry soemtimes if I am killing time or I go on slowtwitch.

Yeah I upgraded to the blackberry service the other day. Love it!

So much easier to browse the forums now on my berry than on my old rumor. Awesome shit. Now I know why people love these things. Its like crack lol

Opera is completely crap. Doesn't open Java, I haven't figured out how to copy and paste on it yet, only displays one picture on a page, etc.

Weird, opera on my pearl displays all the images on the page at once. Could there be a setting you haven't checked? I do hear some complaints about opera browser but i"m not sure what people are looking for. I use the net for quick reference and killing time when needed. Works just fine for that. I wouldn't call it completely crap, may be a little harsh. Have you tried the Bolt browser? I used it for a little while and it seemed to work well but I just removed it because I was used to opera so I stuck with it.

Are there any other browsers that will work with blackberry besides opera and the one it comes with when you activate the bb service?

Nope there are barely any settings to change. I heard Opera was the best, but it doesn't work that well.

I am a bit ticked off that the new 8900 wasn't 3G... if it was, it would be better then the bold.

They really need to create less models, and pack more options into the fewer models...
Do a storm version, a curve sized one, pearl sized one and a flip based one and give them all gps, 3g, wifi, and 5MP cameras ffs lol (plus all the normal stuff)

The new BB Onyx...... check crackberry.com for the heads up. Is going to be the curve on crack. 3G, wifi, gps.....but only 3.2 mp. W/e though I have a real camera for pictures. The phone is to capture fun times and random shit. 3.2 is just fine for that. Remember when digi cams were onyl 3.2 MP? Word is the Storm 2 coming to rogers will have everything packed into it aswell. so basically the onyx or storm 2 is the next device I will be getting. Oh and they are doing away with the surepress screen on storm 2 and possibly an optical track ball on the curve that is on crack instead of an actual ball. IMO optical will be better since it cant get clogged up, and dude at crackberry seemed to really like it.

The only browsers I know of for the BB is the native browser, Opera (which is good) and Bolt browser which also works well. Take your pick. Opera and bolt are a tad speedier than the native browser.

strange.. I find the native browser when you activate the service, to be faster than opera and smoother to run... weird...

I remember when digi cameras were under 1MP ;) Todays webcams are way better lol.

I could live with 3MP cameras though, but they have 5MP out on some phones already, so I want them all to be lol...

Right, but, all the phones I have seen with 5mp are tanks. BB may be a little wide but I would prefer a wider phone that isn't as thick. And, slider phones aren't the greatest design in the world imo. Holding the phone is awkward for txts and I can just imagine trying to write an email on one of those. The Nokia N95 is what I'm talking about btw. The other one I have seen with a 5mp camera is the sony 850i I think? but again it's too thick and the buttons are junk on the thing. Europe and Asia have all the nice phones though and I have seen models from over there with 8 MP.

    Did you try bolt, cox?

MP aren't everything with cameras, especially with those tiny cell phones. Most images on the web are less than 2MP.

I get with 2 bars on the connection window:

Threads like this make me smile :)

Mobile phones are the single only thing that Europe gets (technology-wise) before the rest of the world. Not a very productive input on the thread I know but i couldn't help it.

I normally have a decent phone but i went pay as you go to save money so I've got a Sony Ericsson V640i atm. It does me fine for the minute, I get too much spam to want it on the go as well lol.

I did for a while have an LG KM900 Arena which was awesomesauce, but i sent it back for similarly cost-cutting reasons :(

We quite like the Skyfire browser, but i'm pretty sure it doesn't work on blackberry. http://www.skyfire.com/product

Turns out they're in closed beta for a blackberry version. Public beta expected in Summer some time.
