but question how does the guy know when to record or use the recordings? can you listen to the channel without being in there?

Yes you can listen to channels you are not in, an admin can set up ghost accounts. You can be in one channel and talk and listen, while listening to other channels.

The Vent I typically use has a music streaming channel that several of us have had ghosts set up for so we can listen to the music while being in another channel gaming.

 

huh thats pretty cool, wait i wonder if they listen in on me and all my brilliant ideas in our vent!!! ¬.¬

 

i thought ghosts displayed inside vent to others though

 

I think its an option on a vent server to display the ghosts or not, sometimes only people with the right to ghost can see them I think.
