Ive been playing this mmo since 1999..it always in development and upgrade. The closet thing to a real life war sim.. friendly fire is all it lacks for realism. There is no FF. here's a look at the cool toys I get to play with. http://wiki.wwiionline.com/index.php/Units link to 14 day free trial here http://www.battlegroundeurope.com/s...jsessionid=74AFE0254C15F41C5263D4D3C672F922.2 ..this is not an easy game to learn or play. I'd suggest joining a squad the first day..plus make use of the training server..there are player/teachers there and the damage is way less..no one shot ur dead. I train people in the use of armor and grouped armor tactics..I am very good..I am feared. I am still taking fllght training after 7 years. The flying is hard ..very hard...the dogfights are even harder. 7 years...I get owned regularly in the air It can be boring for at times..then its the most intense action..for days..constant nerve wracking action. The game can take months for one side to win. the map.. It goes from about 6 degrees West to about 14.5 degrees East longitude. From about 44.5 degrees North to about 61 degrees North latitude. Ballpark: Oslo to Venice (North to South), Berlin to almost Dublin (East to West). About 1400 kilometers wide through Brussels. if you were going about 230 kph, it would take you about an hour to cross all of the developed area. (/Lt Gen. Bragg crawls back into his tank) I rule in armor!! (looks up sees axis JU87 w/500lb bombs)..oh shit!!I'm outta here!!
I actually enjoyed the trial Doc. I need to learn tons more though lol. Prolly next week I'll buy it, since my trial is over. I even bought a joystick so I could mess with flying & I agree with flying is evil in that game. I only messed with planes in the offline mode.. but good god.. I couldn't land for the life of me.. just crash boom! Once you get used to the controls on all the various junk, it's fun. Although I can't figure out how to aim the mortar for crap. But tanks are fun.. I like how many people it takes to man them, more fun that way I think.
The mortar needs a spotter..if you can see the target..they can see you. half the time I have to be my own spotter..be hidden behind cover..fire..jump up look for the smoke. Get back down..adjust range. I use smoke rounds at first..press 2. from 450 meters. Ask if anyone spots your smoke or maybe you can see the smoke. Smoke is also handy for helping Sappers get close to tanks to place the Satchel charges. Or if you just need a tank to move..hit him with smoke..he thinks sappers are after him. Mortars wont hurt a tank. Unless you make a hole in one in an open hatch.
Good info, will have to look into that when I subscribe. Though my brit army guy is lowly level 1 though.. so just bloody bolt action rifles for me... arggghhhhh!
