Where can I start? Huge plot holes. Horrible acting. No Continuity. Appa and momo get a combined screen time of under 1 minute. They said EVERYONES NAME WRONG. They even managed to say Yin and Yang wrong. Things that made absolutely no sense at all even though I watched the animated series. If you did not watch the series you would be seriously confused and lost. I am so disappointed at how this movie turned out. I had such high hopes but looks like Shammy just ruined something that was amazing.

Maybe I am a bit too harsh because I am a bit of a fanboy when it comes to avatar. What did everyone else think? Though I would not recommend ANYONE watching this steamy pile of crap.

Me and my boy went to go watch it yesterday.

The only thing that made me able to sit and watch the whole movie was the fact that everything was in 3D.(well, that and the fact that i paid for a ticket..) The fights were badass (when they actually fought, lol..). But i agree, the director totally butchered the avatar.

I'll cut him a little slack, because the avatar is a LONG series, and its hard to put everything into a movie and actually make it flow correctly. Either way, i would only recommend this to avatar fans. You may get a kick outta the action scenes but people that never heard of it will probly be pissed.

I hear it was supposed to be in 3 parts, which would of been plenty of time to work out the fine details.

It is suppose to be a trilogy, also the names were pronounced incorrectly, because he wanted Avatar to have the Eastern flavor it originally came from. Which would've been fine if that was the case, but that's not how the series was intended to be created, it was to be a western throw on eastern flavor, I haven't seen it but reading and hearing some reviews, as a fan of the series wont give this director a dime to see it. I can honestly say his other movies were okay, but this is just unbelievably, bad. I could go on, about other stuff he changed but I'm sure if you watched the series and saw the movies you know what I'm talking about haha. (friend saw the movie another die hard fan of the series, gave me the tip to not see it haha)

wait huh? you know Avatar was made int he US by US writers right?

Avatar: The Last Airbender (also known as Avatar: The Legend of Aang)[1] is an American animated television series that aired for three seasons on Nickelodeon and the Nicktoons Network. The series was created and produced by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, who served as executive producers along with Aaron Ehasz. Avatar is set in an Asian-influenced world[2] of Chinese martial arts and elemental manipulation. The show drew on elements from traditional Asian culture, while blending the styles of anime and US domestic cartoons.[3]
The series follows the adventures of the main protagonist Aang and his friends, who must save the world by defeating the evil Fire Lord and ending the destructive war with the Fire Nation.[4] The pilot episode first aired on February 21, 2005[5] and the series concluded with a widely-praised two-hour television movie on July 19, 2008.[6] The show is available from the following sources: on DVD, the iTunes Store, the Zune Marketplace, the Xbox Live Marketplace, the PlayStation Store, Netflix Instant Play, and on Nicktoons.[7]
Avatar: The Last Airbender was popular with both audiences and critics,[8] garnering 5.6 million viewers on its best-rated showing and receiving high ratings in the Nicktoons lineup, even outside its 6–11-year-old demographic.[4][9] Avatar has been nominated for and won awards from the Annual Annie Awards, the Genesis Awards, the primetime Emmy awards and a Peabody Award among others. The first season's success prompted Nickelodeon to order second[10] and third[11] seasons. The first part of a movie trilogy titled The Last Airbender was released on July 1, 2010.
Merchandise based on the series includes scaled action figures,[12] a trading card game,[13][14] three video games based on the first,[15] second,[16][17] and third seasons, stuffed animals distributed by Paramount Parks, and two LEGO sets.[18] An art book was released in mid-2010.[19]

    TwilightAngel-

Sorry I guess I said that in a confusing way, I knew that Avatar: Last Airbender was made in USA. I meant to say the movie director M. Night Shyamalan wanted to give it more of an eastern pa-zaz (Asian pronunciation of names). Firebenders needing a fire source, and I believe he took out the Kyoshi warriors? I haven't seen the movie and don't plan on it, when I saw M Night was the director, I lost all interest. Didn't need to copy and paste the Avatar wiki should have just linked the page haha =]

Honestly I just pirated a cam version, and the reason it was bad was alot of reasons but the main thing was that they left so much out, it was way too fast - specially for a 4 season cartoon series. They should of took there time and made a ton more to keep everything.

    Yeah i agree xam.

Avatar is one of those movies to go watch when you need an excuse to get out of the house. Seriously, whenever movies about cartoons/games come out i get kinda scared because the director always tries to change shit..for the worse. I think if i was new to the series and never watched the cartoon, it would've been "okay", but after seeing the cartoon its kinda hard because the show was so detailed and the voice actors were spot on. In the movie, it lacked everything.

I understand that this is a trilogy, which is cool considering how long the series is. However, I think it could have been a much better movie in the hands of the right director.
