So a fella came to my door today trying to sell me this amazing service that I should upgrade to. I currently have Directv and ATT DSL services. Bundling all this would def be cheaper going with U-Verse, but I'm scared to end up with crappy net services and even crappier TV quality\experiences. Anyone have any thoughts\experiences with it?
AT&T loves to make you sign 2 year contracts so you may want to see if that is going to be a factor in this situation as well.
I've had U-Verse for about 2 years now. Stability has been outstanding and performance is pretty solid of course all of this is subjective to your area. I'm in the Dallas, TX area.
I'm in South Carolina, and from what I can tell the service is fairly new to the area. What did you have before U-Verse? I'm also concerned about the TV application not having the same features as DirecTV. To be honest I'm very happy with DirecTV, and wouldn't be switching if it wasn't for the bundle idea, the extra HD\DVR features U-verse offers, and the supposed faster connection speeds.
First yearh the bundle will be about 30 bucks a month less than what I pay right now, after the first year it will go up to about 5 bucks less than what I pay now, but the salesman said I could just request the intro price again next year and that AT&T would give it to me. Even if I don't get that price though, still roughly what I'm paying now for a supposedly superior service. I just need to find out if it really is better or if it's all just a hyped up POS.
I had Dish Network for TV and Time Warner for Internet. The Internet used to go down almost every time there was bad weather and as much as I loved my Dish on normal days. The days I really tend actually watch TV the most is when weather is bad..... You know.... When Dish sucks! hehehe I've been very happy since the switch.
