http://forums.ac.turbine.com/forumdisplay.php?f=59 Anyone who played Asheron's Call 1 or 2, likely knows the story of how Microsoft bought Turbine and broke Asheron's Call2. Well - I dunno what happened or why, but they are re-starting AC2. If you subscribe to AC1.. you get access to the AC2 beta. Basically, it costs 10 bucks to buy the game and you get 30 days free. I logged in this weekend and it was fun... from a nostalgia point of view. Not sure how they're going to update the graphics... although they're no worse than WoW. I ran into some old buds already, so for me, it's just great to see some of my fellow old farts again
Wasn't AC2 a big fail tho? compared to AC. Are they going to actually invest time in fixing AC2 or is this one of those "ohh look we got an unused server, lets relunch AC2" =]
I loved AC2.. The KvK was amazingly fun on Coldeve and the Darktide pvp was also pretty fun. there's a great write-up on the history of AC2 on Massively... I think he did a fair job of summarizing what happened with AC2: http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/1...ogist-answers-asherons-call-2-the-highlights/ And it appears they are putting in the time to fix it. So far the devs are very proactive - but it's early days yet.
Any and all new games are more or less on hold for me until ArcheAge comes out and boy I am anticipating the hell out of it.
