I have it but computer can't really run it well.. I can do some dmg but the servers are all ones run by players and not servers so ping sucks ass.

rofl love how file shack says capped at 500kb/s for no login, and then it says the server is capped at 750 kb/s but I am getting well over 800+ kb/s lol

i have to say i am enjoying the game

it takes some getting used to but i also have played the "full"

if you want to fly get a joystick or use your xbox or ps3 controller its pretty sweet

do we have enough interest in this game to warrant a 50$ purchase?

I could see myself buying the game if the full version is a bit more polished. The demo is somewhat clunky. What I want to see the most is a larger scale firefight with some objectives. The 4v4 stuff we were doing was kinda weak.

I can see great potential with the game but only if its actually organized on a mass scale. I don't see myself buying it from my demo experience though. It's just not good enough.

The game is not intuitive at all. Menus are terrible. The blur in the game is rather stupid and not "realistic" in any way. Spawning with weapons but not the ammo for them... Finally it has some terrible AI directing.

Teamplay is really fun. Though my experience was a bit limited to playing against NPCs half the time. Which really do destroy half the fun of the game through terrible AI directing. The map is amazing. Vehicles are fun and actually challenging to use. Weapons are ok, some need tweaks. The MG's seem to be a bit more accurate than the sniper rifle at every range but over 300m. At 300m+ the sniper still sucks since there is no real "adjusting" for distance, wind, etc... just random luck with you sighted in on them the whole time.

Many of the problems can be patched but it really is no where near retail worthy in the demo. Other problems could be patched but its more of a fundamental problem(menu stuff).

    3/5 is my vote.

I think part of the problem is there are no dedicated servers yet..
Also I am wondering if there are "standard" maps, or are they all custom?

The UI wont change from demo to retail though. Stability is a bit better on retail. I never crashed on retail, but get a ton of CTDs on the demo.

I think it will be a great game once a few patches come out. I was very skeptical at first.. playing alone in SP was kind of lame, but after playing with the guys, I think with a good team in MP (even with the issues) it could be worth it.

no more crack threads, but I have to aplogize for the TK's.the full version will be better,I was in single player,as a medic pulling guys from the line of fire ,then did medical aid on them.was fun,got my controler cofig'ed for my cobra, I turned down my sensitivity and the blur stops.not all the way but 90%.the rosetta in bf2 was quicker, space bar commands to AI worked they attacked everthing I put my crosshairs on...I love this game.....crack post done, no you guys xan make fun of ME!like my crack sig?

Agree with sokar, the game is way too unintuitive. Multiplayer needs more options as well. Random weapon spawn? Respawn of vehicles and gear crate inventory? Hello? I understand it's more "realistic" but they should at least have an option so we can chose to be realistic or not. Plus the game is buggy as shit, memory leaks, crashing, death loops, etc.

I like the being wounded and not being able to use your legs, I like the ten zillion different weapons. I like the fact that players don't stand out against the terrain. I like that you can mow down trees and walls. I like that corpses stick around for the whole game.

It's definately got some good points, but as of right now it's way too flakey. They need to put out a demo of the release version before I spend any money.

i just thought some of you might wanna see this thread

    http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=73776

large scale fight on a dedicated server with objective and everything

I myself am pretty sure I will be getting this game today ... Playing on a dedicated server will be much better then playing on my own server (even i had lag when we had 20 people on the server yesterday)

There is so much potential for this game. Check out www.armaholic.com for some of the stuff that can be done ... very MOD friendly

I made a demo map I'd like you guys to try.
urban combat with the spawn zones in heavy woods (no tanks/air). set in early morning with rain.

I was messing around on it last night and was pretty fun.

I can't host for crap, so any ideas on how to transfer a map?

    Try this, if you can.

extract this zip into your "Documents / ArmA 2 Demo Other Profiles / <Your player name>

It shouldnt over write anything, but if it asks go ahead.
