1. Age (18+ Requirement): 22 2. Name (Forum & IGN): Vincenthius 3. Class: Sorcerer 4. Do you have vent and a mic?: Yes. 5. Previous gaming experience: TLDR: WoW since 2006: semi-hardcore raiding and pvp at different points along the way. Main toon since day one: Balance Druid. Only MMO I've played is WoW, since May of 2006. New to the MMORPG thing I took it slow for a while, not working endgame until tBC where I raided semi-hardcore with my guild in t4/5. In the Fall of 2007 I removed myself from the raiding scene as school schedule conflicted with the raiding environment. I turned to PvP which I took fairly serious, but the serious pvp scene on my server consisted of only 5-7 alliance players and the same number of horde. (RP normal server ftl - was my original server). In the Summer of 2008 I left the same guild I'd played with from tBC launch and took a break from the game. Last fall I came back to launch a new guild with some old friends for WotLK where we set up a small casual raiding guild on a different server that eventually grew to be second alliance side. In May/June the guild collapsed and the more hardcore players(myself included) formed a new guild with friends from around the server that had similar agendas. I've been traveling most of July, and have realized that no longer wish to continue playing in WoW. I've experienced the game from most angles that I was interested in, leveling, alts, raiding, pvp, as well as some other on-the-side fun such as pet and mount collecting, and money making (spent lots of this spring working the economy and auction house to get 6-figures of gold) 6. Why did you chose XoO: I've been browsing AionSource for about a month, since I discovered the game and that site, and have seen posts by XoO members as well as the recruitment thread. I found everything I saw on AionSource from XoO members to be outstanding and thought to give a serious look at the legion. I visited xoohq and looked around at the other games XoO is involved in, and other information I could gather on how this organization worked (I have no previous experience with multi-game guilds). Ultimately I'm very pleased with what I see from the membership and leadership, I love the PvP focus from the Aion division and really think XoO would be a good fit for me in this game, and I look forward to the opportunities that XoO might present outside Aion itself. 7. Do you have a referal?: I do not. 8. A little bit about yourself: Graduated from the University of Virginia this Spring (Economics). Spent three summers interning with defense contractors and management consulting firms but am looking for something else to start my professional career. I'm taking a serious look into education, or the State Department. I'm usually quiet when I first meet people, but am very social with friends. If I can remember right I'm ISFJ. I've always played sports though at this point I mostly watch; soccer is my favorite, also on the list are swimming, basketball and lacrosse. I'm definitely in to music. I'll save any more of an introduction to me personally for when[if] I get accepted! In game I always want to be up to speed with mechanics and knowledge of classes and content. I tend to research a lot, but admittedly not as much as I've seen from friends in game. RPGs are my preference when gaming (not big on FPS, never really took to RTS online that much) and I get attached to my toon. I've also found that I enjoy working the game economy when I see an opportunity. 9. Apply to usergroup: New XoO member (probation), check. Thanks!
nice and lengthy application. My first question would be since you are new to games what would your play schedule be for Aion...a rough estimate of hours per week would suffice as we do encourage activity.
oh I definitely plan to be on daily for at least a couple hours. so, 14hours/week give or take, depending on what's going in IRL (f.e. getting a serious job, moving, that sorta thing)
Unfortunatley 2 hrs a day is not enough to apply to XoO atm. If it were more around 25 then we could accept you. We are a casual friendly guild, but 2 hrs a day is pushing it unless you can spend more time on weekends to get around 22-28 hrs a week. If you cannot manage to make that then I wish you the best of luck in whichever guild you find. If you think you can be online a bit more then I would glady accept you. Whatever you decide i thank you for applying to XoO. PS. My main worry is being able to attend raiding events, etc.
I'll gladly push it up. I wanted to be conservative because I'm sort of out of the gaming flow right now, after 4 weeks of traveling and deciding to leave WoW. In the past several months, there, however I was definitely in game 4-5 hours a day, with additional time on weekends. I certainly plan on being in this game at least as much as I was that one. I think that because it's a new game and that I haven't been able to play in any beta events (planning on getting in on next weekend's) I don't have my in game rhythm yet, which certainly determined my initial conservative figure. 4/hours a day is no problem, heck I'm sure around launch that I'll be on 6+. I do know, though, that my play time will certainly take a hit(only temporarily while adjusting to new schedule) when I get a job/move, so I don't want to hold out on that heads up. If game was live right now, I would be on 30-40 hours/week, no doubt. Edit: I'm all about getting in on events and make it a priority to be available for them!
I like him, you sound legit - if you can make it a few more hours a day or so then you are in the right place. RL comes before anything else and even Kyoji knows this. Welcome, IM sure you wiill fit in here. Look forward to talking and playing with you!
hehe, ok. That is good news. You seemed to be a very positive applicant and I didn't wan't to lose you as you seem dedicated and helpful, posting on aionsource and the length of your application. Welcome to the family. Also, remember to check this thread. http://www.xoohq.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8386 ACCEPTED
Welcome, Vin. I feel ya on the hours/day thing. I just graduated, got a real/serious job going, waiting for the gf to get graduated and then settle down somewhere (wherever the job is) - its tough getting use to it, but I find a decent amount of time to play, no where NEAR the amount of time I was able to a few years ago, but I didn't have as much responsibility then as I do now. Either way, I'm sure I'll be on the lower end of the leveling group, so I'm sure I'll be spending a decent amount of time with you on the way up ;]
