lol if it's THAT great then it makes me wonder why by far more users are pc users. (Doesnt like apple beside the nice designs they put in their computers)
I was a long time Mac user from OS7 to 10 (OSX) 10.3 or so. Their OS beats the crap out of Windows any day. Win7 MIGHT get close, we'll see if all the promises actually are true. For those that don't know, OSX was a complete rewrite from ground up, so had NO code from previous OSs. They built it on the Mach kernel using Free BSD Unix as the foundation. Thus the MacOS is a flavor of Unix. Hence it's incredible stability. Their hardware is top notch too. Apple had to write in a MacOS9 emulator (called Classic) into OSX or else none of your old apps would even run on OSX! The reason I left Apple is the same many others have, including my Dad over a decade ago - PRICE! Love or hate Apple, they make good products but just price them too damn high. I argue with a RL friend of mine about this all the time (he too moved to PC) as he says well you pay for what you get, a better product. Well, I tell him, my PC does everything I want it to (more actually....can't play Aion on Mac) and lasts just as long. My thoughts are if Apple wants to be like Porsche, then they are good to go - selling fewer products at a higher price to a smaller market. Yet if they still have hopes to convert PC users over to Mac, then they MUST lower their prices. Peeps have said this for years, but Apple shows no intentio of doing so.
I play this game on a Mac and its stable. The only downside is you can't update shit. I love everything about my Mac, but still want to buy/build a cool new PC rig. A playable Mac with windows/bootcamp sets you back a couple of grand++ and for that you can have a nice PC which lasts 3 or more years. We just had some needed renovations so cash is hard to come by...guess I'll have to wait for my dream to come true.
You nailed it Vandarin. Mac's are actually nice machines but they can't tuch PC's until they lower the prices considerably. I've always been a fan of their elegant designs.
This video is amazing, been a mac tart now for 5 years and wont go back, yeah i agree they do have silly appleTAX. But for what i do (video editing/graphic work) i would never consider the move back to windows now. Luckily for me my works pic up the bill for most of my apple stuff now. They are starting to move down on price, but yes you are right for less money you can get a better spec PC. Guess it depends on if you can justify the £200/$300 extra for the nice shiny apple logo, what what you use it for. I use bootcamp for AION, and it drives me nuts, but thats more coz im now so used to Mac OS, i find it hard to remember how to do things in Windows any more.
well, they're a premium hardware company... so "pc" generic is a lopsided compare. and i enjoyed the OS upgrade this month. $30 insert disc and walk away for 20-30 minutes and its magically done. great thing about apple's OS: it provides ideas for M$ to steal and make windows decent if dated by a couple of years
LOL... it's like each speaker had their own set of buzz words. After the "incredible" dude had spoken, Steve started saying "incredible" too, whereas before he didn't.
