TERA Online ApplicationHow old are you? 18 In-Game Name? Aooi Do you have Teamspeak 3 and a mic? Yes What is your primary class? Warrior Why did you choose XoO: I want a guild with decent to large group of players that can be regarded as gamers. And I want something new. I'm not going to lie here: If this guild does not succeed, I will not enjoy being a member of it. I hate to sound like such a selfish player, but it's the truth, and I'm sure I'm not alone on this stand. And plus, the name is certainly mysterious enough to spark my interest. Previous Gaming Experience: I'll say that I'm dedicated, obsessed even, and I spend a LOT of time gaming. But I'm sure most of your applicants say that anyways. I'm an honest person, and I'll say exactly why I want to join this guild: it's got some amazing potential. I've become drunk with fame and prestige. I like standing tall and being regarded as one of the top players in the game, and as a member of one of the top guilds in the game. Don't get me wrong--I don't go around gloating about my achievements. But honestly, I don't play just for fun. There's people who are dedicated and then there's me. I'm not just dedicated, I'm obsessed. I crave for the spotlight. In MapleStory, when Mercedes released, I deliberately set aside 10 days to grind myself to the level cap (200). I ended up in 30th place overall. In Dragon nest PvP, if I lose to anyone, I don't stop re-challenging that person until I start gaining some consecutive wins (just a single win isn't enough). In Vindictus, when I couldn't solo the raid bosses, I kept trying, over and over, creating new strategies each time, waiting for one that worked, and executing it perfectly every time. I've participated in countless raids over my six years of MMORPG playing. In a game like MapleStory, I participated in many end-game raids, such as Pink Bean, Empress Cygnus, Chaos Zakum, Chaos Horntail, etc. However, I'm sure most of you don't want to hear about a game like MapleStory, where the raiding experiences hardly require skill. In Vindictus, there are many raids to choose from. My favorite would be Ingkells, which is a fairly difficult boss due to his extended range of effect and his high speed. Unfortunately, many Vindictus raids are quite simple: Fiona or Karok takes the bosses attention while I, the Evie, come in for a single powerful smash and then teleport away as fast as I can. Most raids in Vindictus are easy when playing as a group, so the true challenge is soloing such raids. I definitely enjoy soloing, but I'd much rather participate in a group. Unfortunately, when participating in a group, I feel the same as playing easy-mode God of War. No challenge. In Mabinogi, dungeons are technically raids, and they're certainly fun. The strategies for Mabinogi dungeons are significantly different from other games. Most of it simply involves using a powerful windmill attack followed by spamming Magnum Shot or Crash Shot to my heart's content. Some of it require some... rather peculiar skills. I often enjoy partying with people while doing otherwise impossible-to-solo dungeons. However, a lot of the "raids" don't really require skill. Most of the time, it involves setting a campfire or waiting for an Alchemist to set a barrier so I can just spam Magnum Shot or Crash Shot until the enemy is dead. In Dragon Nest, the raids are truly amazing. I often enjoy participating in Apocalypse and Cerberus raids. They are definitely challenging at first, but after a bit of pattern memorization, they become simple. I participate in these raids every week, as much as I can. Well, I used to, before I stopped playing. This makes me seem like a real Nexon-fanboy. But TERA honestly surpasses all of that. Why do you think you'll be a good fit? I'm pretty talkative. That's a warning before I join. I'm gonna be chatting with anyone I can in the guild chat, and talking to anyone I can on Teamspeak, if I am able to log on (I'm in college, so I need to respect my roommate). I typically end up pretty damn far in my gaming careers. I usually end up becoming one of the top 100 or 200 players, which in my opinion is pretty good. In PvP, I typically end up in a high ranking. I'll admit: I know squat about TERA PvP. I lost more than half of the fights I participated in during the test run on 2/8. Then again, that was me as an archer; I usually play warriors. I'll learn, don't worry. What will you contribute to the guild? I'm a very active person in game and in real life. I've led two guilds in the past: Chronos for Dungeon Fighter Online and IRIS for Dragon Nest. Although both games ended up becoming boring (I'm not a fan of instanced-specific games), the guilds still thrive. While it's nothing like Xen of Onslaught, IRIS still claimed the #1 PvP guild in Eastern servers for a while. In real life, I'm an active decision maker. I'm on the executive board of the Korean Student Association and Taiwanese Student Association in my university. I know that sounds like it takes up a lot of my time, but it's no more than three hours a week for both associations. I'm extremely active, playing up to 20 hours a day. You can certainly expect me online for 30+ hours during each Closed Beta event. I also saw that one of the requirements is a good computer. Here are my specs: ASUS G73SW-3DE (I need a laptop) Intel i7-2630QM @ 2.00GHz (8CPUs), 2.90GHz Turbo 12GB RAM NVidia GeForce GTX 460M 1.5GB GDDR5 http://www.speedtest.net/result/1763608434.png I am able to play Crysis 2 on 3D mode with max graphics, with Vindictus, Painttool SAI, Photoshop CS5, and Skyrim playing at the same time, without any problems. Lag won't be any problem. Localization: NA Do you have a referral? ---- A little bit about yourself? Well, maybe somethings about myself: My name is Jeff and I am Chinese American. I have a strange and unexplained obsession with KPop. That's Korean Pop. Mostly Clubbing-Dance Pop. I'm a Freshman at University of Maryland, College Park. I am a Business Major. I'm a busy person: I will NOT sacrifice real life events for gaming. But that doesn't take up too much time anyways. I'm sure you're wondering my schedule. How can such a busy college student make room in his day? Here's my class schedule: Mondays: Free after 3PM Tuesdays: Free after 5PM Wednesdays: Free after 3PM, also free for 2 hours at 11AM Thursdays: Free until 2PM, then free after 5PM Friday: Free after 4PM Here's my activities schedule: Mondays: 7PM to 9PM (estimate), free after 9PM Tuesdays: None Wednesdays: 6PM to 8PM (estimate), free after 8PM Thursdays: None Friday: None Here's my gym schedule: Daily, 1.5 to 2 hours a day, random times, usually between 6pm and 12pm. And my social schedule varies a lot, but I'm usually partying on Friday nights or Saturday nights. That really doesn't seem like I have a lot of time until we realize: I sleep at 3AM on Sundays and Tuesdays, 4AM on Mondays and Thursdays, and 6AM on Fridays and Saturdays. I will have an average of 6 to 7 hours available for gaming on regular weekdays, and over 15 hours on weekends. I can assure you that gaming time is not a problem for me. As for other aspects, I love joking around a lot. Being a guild leader and member of many mature and top ranked guilds in different games, I've adapted to many situations. I treat drama with a "fatherly" view; I try to control situations and calm both sides. I also push people a lot. By push, I mean encourage. "Hey, wanna do this impossible boss in this impossible fashion?" "Hey, let's grind for another 16 hours." "Hey, let's practice PvP for 8 hours." I say it jokingly--but I'll encourage my peers to take on challenges, and if they accept, I'll see through to it.
