So I've been seeing/hearing reports of read/write speeds of 230+ mbps, if this is true, two things jump out to me. 1 firewire is dead, and 2 why am I wasting money on an SSD. So if anyone not using a test bed or has seen a real world test, I would love to hear about it. Especially when I found out about this bad boy for only 30 bucks http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813995004&Tpk=asus usb 3.0 Getting USB 3.0 and Sata 6 for practically nothing could be an outrageous upgrade.
we have the WD 1tb USB 3.0 at work but I havnt goten the need to buy it yet ( i have the ud4p mobo sata/usb 3.0 ) a few people have bought em nothing been returned as they come with a pci e card in the box too i do however have a sata 6gb/s 1tb drive and i notice very little different maybe a second here or there loading up games
@ Erock unless you have a 1GB SSD, you won't notice anything going to a faster bus since current hard drives rarely saturate SATA 2.0 also this chart might be helpful http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sata#SATA_in_comparison_to_other_buses
