So Microsoft and Emsemble Studios are re-releasing AoE2 and AoE2:AoC in HD. So, if I were to Pre-order Age of Empires II HD, would anyone else? Because it's gonna have Steam supported multiplayer and it's the type of game you need to play with friends.
I pre-ordered it the first I heard about it. Although I am not that big into standard MP matches. They can be fun, but I always loved the epic campaigns and scenarios people did with great storylines. I made some of those myself and it is quite fun to do. I will probably get back into campaign creation for a while when this game comes out.
Same, me and my friends had a blast as kids playing LAN. Preordered it right away with them for some funtiems.
I will probably get this. Loved it when i was younger and still play it a bit now and then I suggest a XoO 4v4 or something using TS. That would be pretty cool. (never done MP games before though >.<)
As am I. I just assume that it is because this is a barely adequate port to newer systems from its old game engine. It is still decent enough to play, just definitely not smooth to run. lol. That is what cavalry are really useful for. just have a group of 10 paladins charge out the gate and destroy all the trebuchet's first and distract the other enemies with the rest of your defensive army.
I am actually really pissed off. The game shouldn't have these sorts of performance issues for such an old title. And my favorite game mod (Defend the Wonder) is all bugged to hell. One computer just randomly started giving me all his resources for no reason, doing so in increments for 100 for each so it kept pinging HERE HAVE SOME STONE LOL. And then all of the computers started going "Attack now!" everything single second, and of course there is no way to turn off those annoying chat alerts. This is... a sloppy port. Like, not at all worth the money. The FPS issues alone make it so I can't keep up with the higher difficulty computers just because my reaction time is forcefully limited.
i definatly agree, dunno where "HD" comes in, seems to be quite the POS. in better news, i bought it with AOE3 for $28, and me and a few friends have quite enjoyed playing AOE3 at least
Coming up in the patch releasing in a few days: • Frame rate & performance improvements that increase frame rates up to 50% on low end machines and up to 500% on the high end systems previously experiencing frame rate issues. and a ton of multiplayer fixes that hopefully allow multiplayer to actually work decently.
