Planetside 2 ApplicationHow old are you? 20 Do you have Teamspeak 3 and a microphone? Yes Do you understand that Teamspeak usage is required at ALL times? Yes In-Game Name? AemiliusPaulus Why did you choose XoO? I often see you guys on Waterson running effective vehicle teams. I don't see many VS outfits that do anything except infantry. I have been invited to your platoons before and found you organisation very impressive. What can you bring to the table? I consider myself a very good Magrider driver, first of all. I am BR 58, for reference. I have a fully certed Magrider with the full lvl 4 Magburn, full lvl 3 Racer (also lvl 3 Rival if needed), max rank Vehicle Stealth and either the Saron (almost fully certed) and the Proton II PPA half-certed. I have often been complimented on my Magrider survivability and effectiveness in quashing enemy Sundies or armour. I've turned a large number of fights around by flanking the enemy and taking out their spawns and tanks. Thanks to Vehicle Stealth and camo for every continent, I often go behind enemy lines to take out the AMS Sundies. I always roll with a gunner since I have a large number of friends I invite to gun. I also have a fully-certed Lightning with the Python HEAT, Python HE and Skyguard cannons (the cannons are not fully certed however, just mostly certed). I can fulfill AA duty quite well in a vehicle -- or on foot, as I have the Annihilator and the Lancer. Finally, I just spent ~1,600 certs just today on getting my Harasser decked out. It has the Halberd and the Fury in addition to all but the last level of Composite and Turbo. I'm not yet a good Harasser driver, but I have plenty of experience gunning it. As far as infantry weapons, I have pretty much everything you can name in every class. I bought $22 nVidia 5000SC codes on eBay and I never bought any weapon that cost over 250 certs with certs - I buy everything I can with SC. That's how I managed to buy so many weapons and still have enough to cert out a tonne of vehicles and classes. My Engie class is certed to the max and so is my Heavy Assault class. My Medic class is almost fully-certed and I don't play as Infiltrator or LA (yet) much, so that's not my specialty. I haven't got into the MAX gameplay yet either, but I plan to once I finish certing my Harasser and the guns on my Lightning. Basically, I have a very good pool of certed-out vehicles to choose from. I don't pilot and unfortunately I am not good in the air. But as far as vehicles, I consider myself to be very good at that. Even though infantry combat is not my preference, I still spend over half my time on foot simply because the situation demands it. I would love to get into a Lancer squad, BTW, so if XOO runs those, I would be delighted. *********** So this is basically what I think sets me apart from a regular PS2 player. I have very good tactical awareness in vehicles and it's quite hard to kill me in my Magrider due to my strafing and Magburner skills. I can survive where every other tank dies and I don't get dragged into pointless trading of fire - I go in for the kills behind the enemy lines. Every single ground vehicle other than a Sundy I have a lot of certs and SC into (Flash doesn't have much certs though). I have an AMS Sundy but I left it with its default weapons and did not buff its armour or speed. And like I said, I still play infantry a lot as can be gleaned from my profile, but I am not particularly good at it other than the fact that I am a very good support engie. There isn't really that much to talk about as far as infantry anyway. Localization: North America Activity level? I have fairly high activity levels during the evening and especially the night. I don't count how much I play, but according to my profile on PS2 Players, I joined in May 24th and I racked up Total Time Played of 12d 18h so that's about 32 hrs per week. Please list all your alts on Waterson I am a very loyal Vanu player and I have never played as another faction nor have any alternate accounts on any server or as any other faction. I don't even have any VS alts on other servers. What are your normal play times? (be general ex 6pm -10pm) I generally play between 20:00 and 03:00 EST. On the weekends it may be during daytime. What is your favorite class to play? I spent 89% of my time as an Engineer, but I do switch to the HA quite a bit as per the situation demands What is your favorite vehicle to use? Definitely the Magrider. I already wrote about what I do with it. But I do pull Lightnings especially when I need the Skyguard You’re standing at a Sunderer, an enemy tank approaches over the nearest hiiltop. What do you do? If there is another HA with a good launcher, I have an Annihilator and a Lancer so in these cases I will get onto the ridgeline and shoot at the tank (with usually the Lancer that I just bought) until it retreats or the Sundy is smoking, in which case I will switch to Engie and repair it with my maxed-out lvl 6 Repair Tool. I can repair very quickly and with another lvl 1 Repair Tool Engie I can outrepair the damage most tanks will inflict. I am fond of C4-ing tanks and I am pretty good at sneaking up on them -- so if they are close enough, I will try to C4 them. If they are TR, I made my HA class with Amerish Forest Camo, Skull Mask and the Shank You Very Much huge red decal on each shoulder which makes me look very much like a TR soldier. It gets me very good kills often times against the TR. I move from cover to cover when sneaking up on a tank, so I am pretty adept with it - C4 is my third-favourite weapon according to my stats. You’re standing at a Sunderer, an enemy air-unit approaches in the distance. What do you do? This one is fairly easy because my Annihilator will usually scare away any ESF and my Lancer can hit a Liberator pretty easily as well. Unless the Sundy has AA guns, I get my Launchers to repel air because the enemy aeroplanes rarely take Basilisks seriously. On the other hand, lockons scare them quite a lot, as I have noticed. In your opinion, which vehicle is most important to the game? The Sunderer is easily the first and most important vehicle for general scenarios as it allows quick respawning for infantry when properly positioned. However, when there are enough Sundies around during an offensive or when it is a defensive battle, in that case I prefer the Magrider as the most important vehicle. I turn many battles around in my Magrider because for as long as there are enemy AMS points (if we are defending), the battle will stalemate. Infantry is not enough to break that stalemate unless an organised outfit can pull off an LA suicide rush of several LAs or spawnbeacon+drop-pod spam or just the enemy is stupid and exposes their AMS to our Lancers. Obviously what I just described above merely reinforces the importance of AMS Sundies, but I meant to explain how the importance of vehicles shifts in my strategic vision. In your opinion, which class is most important to the game? This is a difficult question to answer because there are so many highly- situational scenarios. In general however, the Engineer class is unbelievably versatile and crucial class IMO. It can repair MAXes, vehicles, it can supply ammo to maintain front-line effectiveness of soldiers, it can provide extremely powerful anti-vehicle firepower in the form of the AV turret (which I put certs into myself) or through C4 (which I use, since I did not cert into tank mines), it can provide very good chokepoint defense in the form of the AI turret (which I don't use very much however, due to its highly situational nature). Engineers can do it all. Most importantly in terms of tower/techplant base defense though, engineers can repair turrets. I am often shocked by how few people care about turrets. I get huge amount of kills with AV turrets and they can easily suppress anything short of a large vehicle zerg. This is especially true with a Tech Plant defense. I rarely see a lot of people on the top of the tech plants where the turrets are, but whenever the enemy controls those turrets, no ground or air vehicle can approach the Tech Plant. It's perhaps the most OP weapon in all of PS2 when massed. Medics have a good bit of importance in certain scenarios, but generally if there is a spawnpoint or a Sundy close by and if there is at least one medic there already to revive MAXes, the Medic class isn't that crucial. It's my third-most played class behind Engineer and HA. Which of these traits most accuratly reflects your approach to gaming. Hardcore Structured What type of Outfit are you looking for? Hardcore Structured Do you have a referral? MasterChaif How did you hear about XoO? I have chatted with several XOO members some of which I should have in my friends list and they told me what XOO was about. I always wanted to join XOO anyway, so it wasn't that I needed to 'hear' about it -- I always notice you guys on Waterson
Sorry for the doublepost, the forums apparently logged me out so then they required me to log back in when I finished the application the first time. Once logged in, I was redirected to the application, which I filled out again identically thanks to the Lazarus app on Chrome... Turns out I didn't need to
