Well you can now get a 16 core computer as AMD just released their new server processor. Based on the Bulldozer architecture. It has 16 cores and uses socket G34. You can get the processor, motherboard, and 16GB of RAM for under $1500. The board fits in a standard ATX form factor meaning it will fit in any normal tower. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813182230 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820139262 http://www.smsassembly.com/AMD-Opteron-6276-OS6276WKTGGGU-2.3GHz/ Date code on that processor says it was manufactured somewhere between July 25th and July 30th Anyone going to upgrade to it?
16 cores sounds pretty sweet but I bet since its meant for servers you wont be able to find a good gaming motherboard for it.
