13 year olds kills himself after being told he can't play Wii

I'm with the author on the fact that I laughed a little when I read the headline. It is a tragedy though. Fuck, I remember when I was 13 and how into game I still way *Looks at himself now...continues* but there was no way I would ever go that far. I've thought about suicide in the past, but never over fucking gaming.

 

To me this is just more proof spanking your kid is just. He was upstairs throwing a tantrum because he was put in time out. No kid would be throwing a tantrum after having his ass whooped.

 

I was spanked as a kid, and honestly, it worked wonders. Child abuse or not, that shit works.

 

ya, me to... it rly worked wonders for me as well, and tbh if i threw a tantrum at that age about a video game, my father would have smacked my ass up and down the house.....srsly i doubt its the game system, just the parents.

 

It's hard to say if he needed a spanking,medication, better communication...or maybe it was just the result of a pubescent teenage boy whose overactive hormones lead to irrational behavior.

As a new parent I am concerned about these things.

 

This is extremely sad There are issues this family had that no one will know...This kid didn't kill himself because he couldn't play a Wii.

Very sad story. Spankings have their place. My parents say that I was a pretty good kid, but I do remember getting a spanking or two, or three, or....never mind. I dished out a couple to my kids as they grew up. I have turned out well enough and so have my kids.

I read somewhere that the death was actually accidental, and in fact, not a suicide at all. The coroner's report read that it was actually a mishap while the boy was throwing a temper tantrum...

So he was throwing a tantrum in his school uniform and his tie accidentally got stuck somewhere while he jumped up and down.

I shared this around the office, and the conclusion was that he's just a spoiled brat.

 

And nothing of value was lost.

 

You have to wonder if the sister gets the Wii now

Well yeah...If you're whipping your kids everyday then there is a problem. But as a severe punishment, it fucking works.
