Me and the fiance are taking this hike this walking season..maybe january..that's summer here.
I have been up in the fiordlands but not far off the track..it is winter here now..rainy..snowy..cold.
Kavi..my fiance has already done this tramp and many others. I have a few months to get myself in shape for this 4 day walk.

The move from florida to New Zealand has worked out very well for me...it is now almost 4 months Ive been here.

Sounds like your getting the swing of things Doct, Hmm, I would love to do that walk myself. One of those things you would regret not doing.

I say go for it. Remember to get some practice in first. Walking is the greatest exercise there is.

Kavi says the walk down the mountain is the part that was the strain....

got me some Keen hiking shoes..breaking them in now on the trails around wellington..some 4 to 8 hours walks.
some start just one mile from my home....30 mins and it feels like Im in the middle of the wilderness...when I'm really just on the edge of the capital of New Zealand.

I really love NZ...working on my NZ accent..naw'yea..Yes..thank you..
LOL..it'll be years before everyone stops looking my way every time I speak.
