â€˜The Hobbitâ€™ world premiere set for November 28 in New Zealand

It will be here in Wellington..I hope to get tickets from some connected friends..

Peter Jacksonâ€™s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will have its world premiere on November 28 at the Embassy Theatre in Wellington, New Zealand.

New Zealand is the home of director Peter Jackson and where the movie was filmed.

Jackson said in a statement, "I know I speak for a company of hobbits, dwarves, elves and orcs when I say that this city holds a special place in all of our hearts. We cannot think of a more perfect way to send The Hobbit off into the world than to celebrate with a huge party here in Wellington, where the journey began."

According to NME, producers are trying to get the entire main cast, which includes Ian McKellen, Elijah Wood, Orlando Bloom and Andy Serkis, to attend.

Sky News reports that Wellington Mayor Celia Wade-Brown thinks the crowd at the premiere will exceed the 100,000 that were at the Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King premiere in 2003.

An Unexpected Journey is the first of a two part adaptation of J. R. R. Tolkienâ€™s book, The Hobbit. The second part, There and Back Again, will be released December 2013.

The Hobbit films are a prequel to Jacksonâ€™s The Lord of the Rings films, which were also produced in New Zealand. Like the Lord of the Rings trilogy, the two Hobbit films were filmed back to back.
