I played in the initial XoO division when it started - we didn't have enough people in the guild at launch, there was no concerted recruitment effort, and a lot of us were kind of burned out with the game since we started during the pre-release and were stuck at level 15 for two weeks. As such, it just sort of fell apart into nothingness, like the CS:Source division! lol.

Used to lead the LOTRO division.
    Fantastic PvE play.
The expansion offers more of that.
Got my archer up to lvl 40 and realized that the endgame content pretty much fizzled.
PvM play was unbalanced and classes that excel at PvE didn't do too well in PvM, and vice versa.
Once the division hit the level cap, the game got repetetive and boring and couldn't hold anyone's attention.
To it's credit though, it was the most enjoyable level grind in any MMORPG I've ever played, though. Tons of content, well laid out maps and quests, really quality PvE experience.

If I only could play 10 games at the same time, then.. sure.

    Player vs Monster.

    Their idea of PvP.

Instead of fighting against someone of the same race, class etc.. you turn into one of Sauron's forces. One of the bad guys basically, and you run around trying to stop the Free People, or the good guys, from leveling, questing, whatever... It is a different twist then your normal mirror class vs mirror class like wow, war etc...

Also, there are things in the game called chicken quests I do believe. Basically you get to run around as a chicken and do things to get unlocks, titles, etc...

The expansion for LotRO has apparently turned the game around, where end game used to be bunk, apparently now it is actually good. At least that is the word I heard before I picked it up.

Mind you, I haven't tried the expansion. But from all I've read about the Mines of Moria, there was nothing to advance PvM. The PvE is fantastic, and only made better with the new classes and expanded high-level content, but if you go for the PvM, you're getting jipped.

Comparing LOTROs PvM to Warhammer RvR, it's as if the Order side was fully implemented with it's PvE, quests, and character development, and Destruction has no PvE.
...and your destruction characters start at lvl 40 and get no level advancement.
...and they only let you play in 1 RvR ocean map.
    ...and it's Dragonwake.

As you can tell from my sig (yes, the Tengwar is a direct translation :p), I love LotR. I played the "World Tour" AKA open beta and would have continued if there was a more in-depth PvP (Humans vs. Orcs) and a better crafting system. It was a good game then, and I'm sure the game has improved a ton since then.

Do you guys think many people would play as orcs if they could?

    Counter-Op?
I now love this game, but my computer probably would fail at it.

Wish we could see who tagged a thread, because if I could, I would come and drop kick you in the face.

No need to tag someone else's thread if you didn't make it, nor contributed to the thread.

I would suggest the admin downloading a hack to change the tagging system/remove it if they don't already have the ability to see the taggers, but really if our members need to be moderated on their TAGGING tendencies I think the root of that problem is buried a little deeper.

Only mods should tag. I've never seen constructive tagging anyway.

By the way I balanced out the tag with my own :p.

I tag constructively on about 20 threads at a time with 3 tags each, when I'm really really bored, mentally and physically tired, can't sleep AND can't think of anything better to do. It's rare but it happens. I don't really see a reason for tagging anyway.

  16. I'm probably the only one from the original XoO division still playing, but if anyone wants to give it a try, send Ceowulf a tell on the Brandywine server.
