I might take a look at the new expansion if I ever get some time.

Looked over the rewards. I grinded up a character last season for the mount in HoTS but it doesn't look like there is anything outside of the game this time. Hopefully we get a new expansion announced this Blizzcon. I love Diablo but it still feels very shallow (other than gameplay) compared to Path of Exile.

How is Diablo 3 shallow compared to Path of Exile? I'm asking because I have never played POE that much and really asking for information about it :)

There is pros and cons to each. Diablo 3 has infinitely better gameplay feel with ragdoll physics, every build has at least 6(7?) major skills, and the sound design is top notch. The biggest problem with Diablo is the gear is very linear; only two stats are particularly important other than the new ones which will always be your main stat and vit. Usually Main Stat/Vit/Crit/Crit Damage. Whereas Path of Exile has a system closer to D2 which means you usually focus on a couple of main abilities and nothing else. But the builds can be quite complex; from micro managing charges, possible options to take (different health systems), elemental resists, slotted gear (and how it slots together).

Honestly if you love ARPG, everyone should try out the big three currently which are Diablo 3, Path of Exile, and Grim Dawn. Last but not least, Path of Exile is completely free. The only thing you buy via microtranactions is cosmetics and extra bank tabs. I haven't got around to playing Grim Dawn (I want to) but it is made by the same people who did Titan Quest which I really loved.

Never played Grim Dawn but played quite a bit of PoE, although I played early on seemed like you could pick one of the OP builds and as long as you had a good weapon just murder your way through everything. Someone gave me a decent weapon early on and it was fun just exploding mobs.

I will probably end up playing D3 again this season for a bit, I just have the worst luck getting gear for my build. Will link my gamer tag
