I played a bit of PW a few years back when it got out. You may want to specify on which version (country or zone) and which server you are on for potential buddies.
Yes, country matters. IIRC the server I played on was singaporean. Perfect World has english speaking servers all over the world including : Singapore Malaysia Europe North America Not to mention you hail from Australia, so there was no certitude you played on a NA server.
