All major competitive games do 5v5. Even BF4 in leagues has 5v5 now. But cod and css, csgo has always been 5v5. Rounds move along faster.
I preordered this for PC and am really looking forward to playing. Hopfully the beta get started in the next week or two.
Min requirements were made public, they're shockingly low. Though I guess that should be expected for a game based on the Source engine. https://twitter.com/VinceZampella/status/430807099971366912
It's not Peer-to-peer, all servers are dedicated and hosted by Microsoft on their Azure cloud servers. That said, there is no server browser and no player hosted dedicated servers (at least not yet), which is a major disappointment.
You're being sarcastic, but they are very reliable. They've been in production use for about 4 years now with 6 data centers around the world. Anyone in the tech industry should know exactly what Windows Azure is. What you mean to say is player hosted servers and a server browser, and I agree. I already mentioned that Titanfall servers will be dedicated, at least on PC. Again, this is not a peer-to-peer game.
hmmm.. Are you sure its not p2p? Because that sounds a bit magical and unreliable. No player hosted dedi's means competition is out anyway.
Sorry; I am a little old school when thinking about dedicated servers. I mean community and player created servers when I say dedicated. There is no advantage to having microsoft host servers compared to the community doing it for them. You can create a sense of community in a player hosted/run server that people return to; you see familiar faces each week and the top players can be viewed through leaderboards and stat tracking. Since the community is smaller there is more of a feeling that you aren't simply another cog in the machine. This is the same reason why CoD4 will be the best of the modern warfare series. If they wanted to host servers for competitive (random or team) matchmaking then go ahead but I guess it is hard to have a sense of any community with that player count in the first place. *shrug*
I hate Origins so much. Mainly cause someone stole or hacked my info and spent $400 on EA Origins store. Still trying to get my money back. Hope that bastard enjoys his 8 copies of The Sims.
Anyone receive an invite? This game looks like it will be a great time killer until other games I'm more excited about come out.
I played it a ton today, and I was actually pleasantly surprised. I don't particularly like fast-pased FPSs -- it's been years since I last played Battlefield or Call of Duty -- but I quite liked the parkour elements, and the titans. I don't know if it's a game I'll be playing seriously, but I might go as far as to pick it up off Greenman Gaming for $35 since I can.
I saw the screenshots and the graphics looked very dated. Plus, no player-hosted dedicated servers, and 12 players maximum in a game means I will not pick this up. For those that will, hope you enjoy it.
