I really didn't 'NEED' an upgrade, but I'm trying to get the wife into FFXIV, so I 'gave' her my old computer (had to stick it into a pink case) and built myself a new beast. It had a 5ghz i7 Sandy Bridge under water, except I moved the liquid system to my new comp, and gave her air, so back down to 4.3ish, didn't push it much. It's got a single 780 Asus Direct CU II 8gb memory @1600mhz Flaming pink wife's comp: Now for my beast! http://pcpartpicker.com/b/JmQ Got new stuff in mail... Started to strip out the cages and such to make more room Mocking up rads and mathing out what fittings I was going to need Tight fit... but got them monsters in there! With push pull fans.... The front one is a 80mm Monsta, and the top one is a 50mm Koolance rad. At this point I was waiting for my 2nd 780 and waterblock to come in the mail Soooo, I decided to sleeve my cables! 2nd card got here, got the waterblock on it, and more sleeving! Backside And after priming the system, letting the air work out of the system for a day or so... time to start ocin'!
No reservoir on a custom loop? That's playing with fire. Also, Xayton, with games like Star Citizen on the horizon, 2 780s isn't overkill.
I also play on a 2.5k monitor (1440p) @ 120hz, and stream, I wanted the horsepower. And yes, can't wait for Star Citizen. And OC'ed Still working on a stable OC for the Haswell, @ 4.4Ghz at the moment, but spiking 80+ *C... might just leave it @ this.... Don't really need the HP of this at the moment.
oh my dude that is a lovely build well done!!! wanna come put mine together ... mine is much too clumsy
Double sided tape for res mount? Or Velcro? Or ... What's your fan hookup behind your front rad? Looks neat.
Syntax I may need to borrow your list of pink pc parts in the near future. My wedding gift for my fiance is going to be a gaming pc and I'm told it has to be pink or it doesn't count lol!
Velcro... the mounting solution that came with the res was horrible. Not to say velcro is much better.... This is the pcb that I used for power to the fans. http://www.frozencpu.com/products/1...B_5xWay_Block_MMT-PCB-6-53.html?tl=g47c17s424 The R2 has a fan controller on it that I would like to have used... but it's designed for 3 fans... not 10... The wife picked out this case; this one is kinda crappy.... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811144279 Other then the bare case, I just took all the white fans out of my R2 and stuck them in this. The internals are not pink, the internals are; (my old rig) NZXT has a better quality one IMO, but what do you do when she picks it out!? I wanted to build a ITX system... but I also wanted SLi/crossfire... so I had to go bigger ._.
It's Arc Mini/350D size cases and smaller for me from now on. I don't have space or need for full atx boards or towers anymore. Plus, it's cool to see enthusiasts pack as much hardware into smaller cases, esp if they put it under water. I was about to put mine under water but picked everything out and it was 5-600$ just for watering, and I can't afford that right now heh.
Nice! That looks pretty awesome. I can't imagine how long that must have took you! lol I just recently helped my bf put together his computer in a new case, and auuuh it took so long. lol
Well with the computer being a BAMF, my monitors were lacking... had to step up my game! 3x 1440p monitors \o/ the main one I have oc'ed to 110hz, haven't tried the other 2 yet
omg that is amazing but that bezel ... see if you can debezel em like i did with mine MAKES A MASSIVE DIFFERENCE!!!
