Some info might be outof date on this list but I found some of the upcoming SBMMORPG info was nice glimpse into what is to come
This video got me intrigued. Got Dragon's Prophet downloaded, will be playing that while waiting for the newer games.
Can't agree more. I'm going to do the same once I'm finally home. Got me even more excited for Archeage and Wildstar too.
take a look at the new update on the class's for WildStar.... the DevSpeaks are kinda funny fpr the class's
I love the Esper in Wildstar, definitely the class i wanna play. Owainn u stopped FFXIV already ? Didn't like it anymore ? I'm so afraid of MMOS they can't light my heart on fire anymore
It seems like they are trying to toe the line between the two. Seems like it could be good if it doesn't just make it a lack luster MMO because it doesn't really wow you in either aspect. http://www.wildstar-online.com/en/news/sandboxes_and_theme_parks_further_analysis.php
It has Sandbox elements in it also........... AA, Black and Bless have Theme Park and SandBox elements
...It really doesn't. The housing is set/and pre-define generated, warplots are instanced content, and it doesn't offer any permanent changes that aren't pre-scripted. Wildstar is created to cater to the old WoW community and it would most likely lose subscribers from embracing more sandy features.

Either EQ title, mainly Landmark, would have been a better pick for this list than Wildstar. In fact... this whole list seems to confuse the term "sandbox" with "open world."
Again.......... on WildStars site it says they are mixing Sandbox and ThemePark elements. Some of those games on there sites the devs calling them sandbox games
Yeaaaah.... nobody is debating whether or not the game has people using words like "sandbox" to describe it, or parts of it. What had me laughing is that the game was being labeled a "sandbox MMO" and put at the top of a list for upcoming games in that category. It is themepark leveling, themepark raiding. What has people saying "sandbox?" War Plots. You build a base and defenses... for a competition where the rules and objectives have been outlined by the developers. This is not a sandbox element, this is a tower defense game element. In a tower defense game you defend the predefined objective and are given freedom for building how you do that. I'm playing Sanctum 2 off and on, I love the game, but I will not call it a sandbox, the enemy has it's goal and that does not change. I don't pick the objective, the objective is keep the baddies off the goal. All I can do is build defenses and pathing. For a sandbox game, the players pick the objectives, they write how victory is determined. The ability to build structures isn't sandbox, building the rules is what is sandbox. I like what little I've read about war plots, about how you can throw bosses in there, about how materials to build are attained through other gameplay, etc. I don't think it is bad, I just won't call it sandbox. Anyway, most of the PvP hype seems to be centered around arena anyway, so it is kind of obvious what game people are coming from with interest in Wildstar and what pvp gametype will get the most developer attention as a result.
