This is kinda like World of Tanks but with planes. I tried the World of Warplanes but it sucked. Anyway, i'm really liking this game a lot, it is currently in open beta and is a free to play game. I don't get it. So it's like just planes or tanks, planes, and ships? All I see is air combat, but I read they offer all of the above.
right now it is just planes. the objectives are other people in planes and AI ships and armored vehicles. i have seen that they plane on implementing the others, they haven't gotten to that yet.

still all about arcade mode with m/kb ... gets boring once u understand that people can just aim mouse and hit ya no real SIM behind it in the mode everyone plays
if you really want to play the game with only people using joysticks and real sim environment and controls, just select full-real battle. That mode forces full real controls and cockpit view. not as many people play it but there definitely are some. Historical mode is more popular than full-real battles because they can still use mouse aim mode but i've seen people do very well in HB with joysticks.
Is this game really an MMO? I've seen the description on Steam, calling it an MMO. Does it support hundreds of players fighting on the same map? Is the world persistent? If it's an MMO I will give it a shot, but if it's anything less, it can kiss my ass.
There are currently about 5 or 6 of us playing this off and on throughout the week. We tend to be online around 6-11pm in the FPS Division section of teamspeak. I try to add a "- War Thunder" or "- Payday 2" to my name to try and let people know what we're up to. Feel free to jump in and join us if anyone wants some flight time. I also play this game.. but I stick mostly with tier 2 planes, im working on researching my german and american tier 3 planes
