The language used in your post was ambiguous. You never specifically mentioned Darkfall. Just try to be more "clear" in the future. Replying to Doctorie was you just being passive aggressive and there is no excuse you can make for it.
Anyway, to Doc: Yer I agree. I will be trying out Darkfall 2, however as you said I doubt that XoO will take to it, for some reason it doesn't seem to fit into XoO's profile. Its a shame really but never mind. There are plenty of other games. I don't mind tab-targetting IF and only IF the rest of the game makes up for it. However these days its not really deniable that its an outdated mechanic. Also, I'm betting money on Blizzard only showing an opening cinematic or something to create hype without allowing any real criticism of the game-play. Without any information available on what they have been developing I would say they certainly have the ability to create an impressive MMO once again, however their lead designers have their heads so far up their arses and are so obsessed with revenue that they have completely forgotten what makes a decent game. I won't be jumping onto the Titan-Blizzard-Activision-Bandwagon until I am 100% sure its worth the risk. Blizzard have disappointed far too much with their dumbing down of (arguably) one of the worlds greatest games. Damn I miss vanilla.
Not that I want to poop on your WoW Vanilla memories (and everyone else that uses that phrase), but you have most likely changed more than the game has.
Meh, I'll probably just end up playing D7D Neverwinter since the open beta is coming on the 30th of April. Plays a lot like vindictus...and f2p is always spiffy.
Wait, who are you replying too? Kazz, doctorie, Riot, Kyoji, utherix? You really should be more clear about these things on forums. It's tough to keep up with all the random off topic posts you start. Back on topic. Tab targetting in games seems to allow the devs to use greater teamwork and team abilities. Darkfall requires teamwork but only as such an FPS would. Defiance is the same way. Zero team skills minus a crappy TF2 healgun. Makes grouping boring. On top of that boss fights and skills are a lot more interesting when using Tab targetting. Tera has done the best job so far with open combat modes but still feels crappy.
lolwut? I'm sure you could provide instances of this, but in reality it's not my problem if people have a bad time with reading comprehension. It's called reading, you know, top to bottom, left to right. A group of words together is called a sentence. Take Tylenol for any headaches, Midol for any cramps.... I will say the beginning of beta was extremely rocky, but the effort the dev team have put into getting the game ready gives them more credibility than they've had a reputation for in the past. I agree with this, but in vanilla and BC WoW each class had different utilities, they had their own job. Now every class can do everything and that's what most games are doing now. Leaving tab targeting might not have more team based abilities, but it completely lacks personal skill unless clicking 1123114 over and over is considered skill. In an FPS an individual with a solid k/d and the ability to shoot people in the head first, will lift your team up overall. A game like LoL with skill shots and a teams ability to chain abilities for maximizing the outcome is what needs to be put into an MMO.
I am also not the biggest fan of tab targeting but there is also the problem with lag. In an MMO there is usually some amount of lag. The more people in a fight the harder it becomes to use skill shots because of server communication. I believe that the lag is one of the reasons most MMO's use tab targeting.
this is more than a derail..its a train wreck lol at sokar "back on topic" then follows with "tab targeting" I've been guilty this myself. So yea..maybe time to close this thread. Start a new one when some fresh titan news comes out.
What, like... spending 5 years working on a super-polished version of Peggle? ...yeah, that sounds like something Blizzard would do.
Last i heard of Titan it was a 3d person FPS style mmo that will be design for casual players in mind but offer hard core elements. So basically a APB/ PS2 mmo lol
Blizzard's to-be-announced massively multiplayer game, codenamed Titan, has allegedly been rebooted and delayed. According to VentureBeat, the Blizzard team of 100 reassigned 70% of the project's staff, leaving a small team to start over. Titan is tentatively planned for a 2016 release, at best. LOL.... so dont waste your time basically.
Next time, don't start getting hyped up on a game before it's officially announced. Especially when you're talking about a developer that has cancelled announced projects in the past.
