my friend was in the beta but they only allowed them to do a very small portion of the game so he doesnt know if he likes it or not. Do we know if its another free to play model or not? theres like hardly any info for it that i can easily find. Ok as an edit found this hour long vid for the game http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFTRgWhLcVs Short snap of it is april 2nd release on xbox ps3 and pc. seperate servers so pc wont play with xbox etc. its mostly pve/coop gameplay. focusing on storyline side missions raids. 50vs50 pvp battlegrounds and pvp arenas. 50 player pve raids. hundred odd level cap more like secret worlds power system rather then class levels. end game content seems to be the dungeon 4 players and 50 man raids with the pvp arenas.. gear grind and finishing your power trees. Ill be trying it for sure so might see you guys there if more are interested

I am currently in the Alpha and Beta for this and it is promising as a game goes. after this weekend i will try to give as much details as i can without breaking the NDA im tied to. As for the cost to play the initial plan they had was for a 1 of purchase though i aint been on for over a week and cannot tell you if there has been a remodel to the cost to play
the pre-orders seem to all just say, a one time pay & play (no subscription) ...yeah, anymore info, would be great..

I got into the alpha server through my twitch to broadcast the game but I forgot to check my fucking email so i missed it as it was this weekend.. so pissed off i could have had footage for you guys. Sorry about that.
Alpha is all the time broski. Hit me up if you see me on. The final beta is this weekend, the 22nd. Everyone should play it if you can. The game looks great now. They really worked on the graphics. Game play is still the same with very little incentive to group besides the difficulty in certain events scaling with the number of people around.
I have to admit it does look good and the time i have spent playing Alpha has been a experience... but as sokar says the down fall of the game as a MMo is the lack of incentive to group up or even be in a guild. I have to say that I am still worried that with the amount of bugs that keep creeping back the game will not be ready for release in the sense that you will be able to run through all the mission without having to wait at 1 or a few for a fix/patch As explained in the defience forum several weeks ago, the graphics were fine then but alas ppl cried, graphic tweeks done and as such new issues hves come around, yeah the game as a whole looks nicer but as such the lag/dc during large hellbug invasions in a joke and in the alpha alone has caused quite a few issues for the majority. Once live with the increase of populous on the server, there will likely be even worse problems. All in all it is a really nice SPG (single player game)with optional co-op 4 man grouping for instanced areas or que for PVP battle ground which are poor tbh. The real questions ..... is Defiance worth the supposedly 1 of fee? possibly (pay for expansions??) and whats its shelf life gonna be?... atm a month or 2 though some will play sporadicly
I got invited to stream last weekend Sokar from twitch. was only a few twitch streamers that were invited to break the NDA last weekend. Thats why im pissed off i missed it, could have got more people seeing the gameplay. And the difficulty is one thing thats making me think the games going to let me down. THEY PROMISED 5 months ago that they made the game so that the devs couldn't do the content without dying and said the game was built to be grouped. All the new footage I seen people who cant shoot for shit can do the content. 4 man dungeons/instances they dont even use the healing gun because of the self revive feature is to good and if you do die you respawn pretty much were you die because theres checkpoints everywere. For a so called pixel perfect shooter it doesn't punish the shit pricks who spray 60 rounds and hit only 10 at an enemy. One major thing thats going to make me lose interest fast in this game i think.
luckily pc versions doesnt have auto aim but yes the console versions do. BUT. I've been shit on AGAIN with defiance for the beta this weekend is up and still no fucking email for me... How can I have been invited to the alpha server by the devs but the fucking website is so shitty it keeps crashing is beyond me. I have had 3 beta keys given to me by devs now plus my 2 preorder codes. all 5 are live and on my account.....Still no email so can't download the fucking game. This is beyond a fucking joke man i'm pissed. Have friends expecting me to stream footage so they can see game before they buy. grrrr!
You have lost me a little there sokar, If you have added the alpha and beta keys to your Trion account then you should be able to DL the game from your trion account under the manage games tab, i just had a quick look to confirm.
you need an email to unlock the download link. and thats the email hundreds of us aint getting. I have tried all night devs have given me keys and still no email tp unlock the key. I think i need to use a link someone else got in their email to bump my activation but can't find anyone on twitch willing to do it for me
I got an invite to Beta the other day and got it installed last night but the servers were down, looking forward to trying it out this weekend!
moose did your link from your email already link to your account? or did you have to input your details once you clicked the link?
it took me to the login page to login with the account i already had setup, then it let me install the game. Took forever cause it was a massive install.

Maybe has to do with the servers being down? At first when I went to it it would not even load the site, i just kept trying over time and finally got to the download link but then got it installed and game would not load cause the servers were down.
