Who pre-ordered the game? Trying to see if its worth setting up a region play game sessions. If you not sure what that is, link below. http://ca.ign.com/wikis/simcity/Regions If you are interested, post here along with your playtimes. It would be fun to get atleast a 5 man region going =]
The game looks great as usual... Never gone wrong with buying a Sim City and have been playing since SC1 on Super Nintendo...
I have a love hate relationship with Sim City I love the idea of the game but I hate actually playing it, as soon as I run out of the starting cash my attention starts to wander. I tend to play a Sim City game for about a couple hours then never touch it again so I don't buy them until they are like $20 for the most part now. That and I don't really like E.A. scanning my computer for everything I have ever done on it.
I'm still angry at EA for tricking me into buying SimCity Societies, so I might just secretly pirate this, and justify it by telling myself that the money I paid for SC:S went towards this instead. I might eventually buy it when g2play has it at a decent price.
Well despite my concerns I decided to get it anyway probably by the end of the week or early next. If anybody wants to try and get a XoO multiplayer region or two going let me know.
When you have a city on one server and you find a queue on it, your choices are to wait out the queue or start from scratch on a different server. If they aren't going to be sharing saved games from a single player, forget about playing with people on other servers. The only question is how viable it is to play on a server on the other side of the world.
I wonder how much worse the rollbacks and queues will get when Sim City gets released in Europe and Asia.
EA didn't allow people to preload the client. Which predictably led to too many people wanting to download the client when it was released, which predictably lead to problems with downloading the client. They are also claiming that this problem won't happen for the EU and Asian launches.
