hmm.. Interested in the game but it already sounds like they are money grabbing. Only 3 character slots and you have to buy more? wtf.
yeah, that kind of kills it for me too. Was really interested in the fact that skills win, but now sounds like the more cash you have the sooner you win.
Yeah, I'd have jumped on this about a year and a half ago but with other releases this year and their money grabs (likely to reconcile the extensions partially caused by the layoffs near their previous release schedule) remove the remaining interest. If it was F2P with a cash shop, I'd probably try it out for a short while but not at all with this config.
This is Funcom we're talking about. Anytime I think they're doing something I don't understand, I instantly think of The Longest Journey, and all of a sudden I'm like "I'm sure they know what they're doing". I will most likely pick up The Secret World. I've been intrigued about this project for a long time.
Age of Conan. But yea I've been really interested in The Secret World but with the way they are making it look like they want to run it. Fuck that.
I may give secret world a chance once its been released and some quirks have been worked out. The game was originally supposed to be F2P, with cash shop etc, but apparently they changed that since last time I checked in on it. I love the fact that when you die in the game, in both pve, and pvp your character doesnt die. He / She has to do spirit missions to rekindle with your body. Basically you are unconcious and you need to wake yourself up, kinda.... its interesting and has alot of new twists from typical MMO games. The gameplay looks nice, and it brings to the table some nice new fresh ideas. I also love the fact that its a horror story feel, and I love me a good mystery horror flick / game in this case. I loved requim bloodymare, and if this is done right I will like it even more. But like I said, I will wait to hear some reviews before I drop money on this game.
I think I will really like it from a story and casual aspect so I'm actually hoping it does poorly so they drop the pay2play model.
While I enjoyed Age of Conan, the game was so buggy that I would rather not go near another Funcom MMO.
Age of Conan matured very well, the problem is people only play MMOs for 3-4 months and consider themselves done. More of the fault of the player type than MMOs general.
I dunno, I really enjoyed AoC... until I got to the points where I ran into unfinished content, zones that relied on a couple of repeatable quests to push you through their level range, and talents that straight up did nothing. Recovering from that UX is hard as balls and I wouldn't trust Funcom with an MMO that wasn't F2P after it.
Some how, some way, Gaute Godager will ruin this game, he did to everything else @ FC ..... his spirit remains ... be warned ! On a serious note, this game does look interesting Gru
/concur. It's a great concept, the teaser trailers were awesome; but Funcom is not a very reputable company, unfortunately. I was totally psyched about this a year ago, now I'm like "Tera's better."
