So I have been browsing around the net and been looking for stuff on the new xbox. This is a good site I found:

    http://www.techradar.com/news/gaming/consoles/xbox-720-every-rumour-about-the-new-xbox-937167

But what I want to know is this. At some point a week or so ago I stumbled on some random images that were from what the site said pulled from a back door on a microsoft sever. There wasn't much info in it. But there was I guess kind of a concept image of what the new box may look like. And from what it showed it basically looked like the new slim xbox, but white, with no cd tray, and it looked like a top mounted hard drive once again.

So assuming something like that is accurate, which is a massive stretch I know. What do you guys think Microsoft is up to. I'm wondering if they will do something like Steam and download the game to the box once bought online. Or if they will just be using cloud storage to keep the games. Both have there up sides and down sides, but everything is speculation at this point.

So what do you guys think about this and what they should do with the new system?

Microsoft is changing their mind too much to say anything about the console right now. Originally it was slated for December 2011 release (ya, right now) and the hardware was all designed. My friend worked on the power efficiency part of the new chip from AMD. Then the project was cancelled and a new XBox was slated for sometime around 2014 or 2015 with the Kinect being brought over to the current XBox instead. AMD was 100% going to be the manufacturer of the graphics chip on this generation once again, and probably still is but who knows what will happen with both companies having new CEOs now. The CPU of it is also up in the air again as it was once again going to be an IBM design, however now the talk is making it capable of running Windows 8 and unifying the PC and XBox OSes. Which it could still be an IBM chip since Windows 8 supports other instruction sets besides x86, but MS could choose to go the x86_64 route instead as they are more familiar with that. If this is the case it will definitely be a fusion chip of two or three generations down the road.

Yeah I was reading some news on Windows 8 and they said that one of the perks they wanted to integrate in to the OS was its cross compatibility with the Xbox console and Live. Which hears a though. Why hasn't Microsoft took the games the are on both PC and Xbox say. Halo ( just for old time sake, obviously there's more recent ones ) and made it so that no matter what system you play on, be it Xbox or PC the achievements are still there and can be earned playing the game on either set up. Hopefully that would be a nice add in on Windows 8 but Microsoft has already said that most Windows 7 users wont even care about 8 because its built for a touch interface. But I guess it's a nice step forward to upping the industry standard, and pushing tech forward.

And by the way EniGmA1987 what do you do? You seem very connected in the Tech world :p

I figured that would work, but isn't said game collection ( gamers for windows ) kinda of small compared to the xbox collection?
