    I had the ones like these in my basement. I think I was bit by them once or twice. I left them alone because they killed the other spiders and bugs. They did creep me out when they were about silver dollar size.

    Years back I was down in Texas for training and we had to get a briefing on dangerous insects we may run into..... this was one. I don't recall ever seeing one though. We were instructed to shake out our boots every morning before wearing them in case spiders/scorpions decided to crawl inside.

    Only 2 living animals/bugs cause necrosis from their bites.

    Yeah, brown recluse spiders are not aggressive at all. They bite when something pushes them up against something else, such as your body pushing it against the wall or sheets or something of the sort.
