Anyone else pick this up for any of the platforms? I LOVED the first one, and I'm really drawn to play the second one soon.

just watching Clarke run in the beginning avoiding tons of necromporhs in a straight jacket was beast enough, i heard they did fix a lot of issues that was in the first one and the game is near perfect.

Who do you rent from (aside from Gamefly, if you don't use it) ?
I have not rented in maybe 10 years or so it seems.
    The normal Blockbuster type places?

If anyone is planning on purchasing this, I would be interested in buying the included code for the Dragon Age 2 armor set :)

just finished completing it on PC. Really enjoyed it, though i would say there is less 'scary' moments and more good action moments. On the first dead space when i beat it I didnt feel inclined to play again but on this one I think I will, esspecially on the hardcore setting :D

So yeah thumbs up from me.

Fear was the best horror game imo.

Fear was like watching the Ring. both kind of fail.

Close to finishing DS2, but it feels somewhat less awesome than the first one.

I've heard the same as well, but it still got amazing reviews.
The first one brought a lot to the table that was kinda new to the horror genre, the second just expands on those ideas correct?

Still going to play this game no-matter-what.

Just finished. The general lack of giant epic bosses kind of bothered me to no end. Seems like the hallucinations aren't as creepy anymore. With FEAR I refused to walk through doors where as here i just shot everything first to make sure it wouldn't get up :)

Did you play the first Dead Space, and if so did that game scare you more (comparatively to Dead Space 2)?

I played Dead Space Extraction on Wii and I honestly thought that it had scarier bits ahaha. Like theres an example where you go in an elevator. And you start hallucinating and coming back to reality back and forth rapidly. And every time you hallucinated a figure would keep blinking closer and closer down the hallway until it like jumped at you.

The first game was divided into distinct sections of the Ishimura. The second game's environments are kind of meh so far. I think the creepiness is still there, but so far, there seems to be less WTF moments. Still worth playing though if you're a Dead Space fan.

I just find the action is more intense so far, well right off the get-go. Only played about 30 minutes, but with the lights down and the surround sound cranked I felt creeped out.

Sound is top notch. Especially with the random things in the background. It's something you would show off your surround system with.
