I'm not a fan of stock power supplies. For the possibility of expansion I would upgrade to a Corsair 650W PSU.

that build is not a gaming computer.

That is a mid/low range media computer i'd advise you to rethink your cpu.

I assume you are going to overclock to make up for the piss poor speed but I'm a little worried that your missing a cooling system.

IF you actually are overclocking i'd advise you go spend money on a x3 core and unlock the 4th if having 4 cores really means that much to you. That way you can save money.

If you are building a solid gaming rid i'd advise you to stick with a duo core with stock speeds at least in the 3.0- 3.4 range.

It's all about saving money i'd like to know the cooling system your getting for your system but since i'm guessing its mid to high range you should be able to push a duo pretty far.

Remember "A cpu is only as good as it's weakest core"

that's not what i'm saying i'm trying to help you save money why settle for medium graphics when you can play on high graphics by just giving up 2 cores that you'll never use?

Try looking for a cpu with better stock speeds that is duo that you can overclock if you want. Companies try to trick buyers into buying more expensive weaker cpus by just increasing the cores and slapping on insane prices. You can surly find a 3.0-3.4 speed cpu for much less than the one you have chosen.

that's what i'm talking about!!! Good cpu.

Cooling system I mean fans if your overclocking you might want new or extra fans to replace the stock ones.

If your not overclocking I guess stock fans will work but that's up to you. (With that cpu you choose you don't really need too) Fans are cheap though so the choice is yours.

    Your motherboard is fine.

here i have find a good tutorial about cpu : http://www.build-gaming-computer-guide.com/the-complete-guide-to-choose-a-cpu.html/7

i know why you tell me quadcore will be not necessary.

for gaming pc you need to have a core speed ... no need many core ... is only for word processing ... so with my change i have save 30$ and have the game COD Modern warfare 2 who worth 26$ hahaha the 2 is old but is okay try to sell on ebay :D

    Thx you brother

Have change case with a 3 fan :D and lowest price

    http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811156135

Did you set all your jumpers?

Is the power supply coming on but the motherboard itself is not?

Is your 24-pin connector hooked up?

Is the light on the motherboard on?

Did you remember to put the spacers behind the motherboard and not mount it directly to the case?

A lot of things could have gone wrong during installation.

I've checked the compatibility between the motherboard and CPU and they are compatible (different firmwares don't always work with every processor). I've had issues with this once and it drove me crazy. Double check to make sure the memory is compatible as well.

You said the CPU fan only turns on for a quick second? Could be a short or not enough power. Do you have both the 24 pin and 4 pin power connectors attached (I assume you have the 24 pin, but some people forget the 4 pin one.)

As Vandiego mentioned, is the motherboard on spacers so that it is not resting against the case. If there are none, you probably just fried the motherboard, and possibly everything else. See the following link for spacers:

    http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/building-pc,518-3.html

Could you possibly take pictures of your set up? Good images could help troubleshoot further if issues persist.
