I've been following all the rumors, and developer movements for this game and man oh man I cannot WAIT to see what it has to bring at E3. It's obviousely a big buzz in the mmo world as every editor is writing about it since it was announced a month or 2 before WAR released. Hopefully Vigil games can capture the world like Relic did. If THQ is smart they would put some lead devs from Relic to help work with Vigil. I haven't much about that though.

warhammer40konline.com is where I go for all the news.

Oh and did I mention there is a MOVIE in this works!? Ultramarinesthemovie.com .

you mean .net right? the .com site is nothingness.

and im cautiously optimistic, i hope its good. im worried they will tone the setting down though, or forge alliances between the factions for simplicity's sake. anything less than War Within, War Without, War Unending.... and ill call BS.

and a Space Wolves movie would be better... though if they wanted to exemplify Warhammer 40k, the Black Templars would have been a better choice... being one of the few chapters that still runs crusades, hopefully theyll make one after the ultramarines movie.... they are by Far the most drab and boring of space marine chapters.

though, thats like being the dirtyist peice of gold... they are still awesome, just overshadowed by pretty much everyone else, including some of their successor chapters.

Rumors say that there will be 3 factions to play. Spacemarines with a mix of empire units, 2nd being orks and 3rd being Chaos. Relic knew full well that there are no alliances between any races ever. They might use each other in short battles but never a full fledged allegiance. I just hope vigil kows that to.

Supposedly the planet that we're gonna be fighting on is a forge world and it's gonna have about a dozen zones. No vehicles announced yet but they know the importance of them.

It's all rumors though so I dunno yet.

I like the ultramarines, when ppl think space marines, they think ULTRA! Of course i'd have preferred space wolves just because they're barbaric and ride fricking OP wolves (I kinda dabble in the tabletop). Besides the black templar are all about killing their chaos splinter part of the chapter, and they haven't gotten a new codex thingie in ages (and won't). Why is it always orks with these guys anyway? You go chaos, space marines, eldar or necrons. After warhammer online though, i'm real sketchy on a 40k mmo.

incorrect, you are thinking of the Dark Angel's Chapter, who are hunting the 'Fallen Angel' traitors of their Chapter.
the Black Templars are a successor of the Imperial Fists Legion, originally comprised of the most fanatical marines. they are one of the only chapters that still continues the original Great Crusade, their chapter spintered into crusade fleets that burn across the stars. there is no major chapter that exemplifies 40k's mindset more than they. as such they are a superior choice for a movie than the dour and literally minded ultrasmurfs

Except for the fact that BTs do not allow psykers (Librarians) which will make for some cool SFX sequences.

EDIT: That and the Ultramarines fight the Tyranid a lot which will make for some sweet enemies.

lol, true, but a skull-faced chaplain ranting fire and brimstone while smoting heretics, orks, and anything else that comes into arms reach is pretty badass too, and very exemplary of 40k's spirit. no one likes librarians anyway, except closet heretics. like the blood ravens

and for those unfammilar with the setting, THAT ^ is a good guy

My personal favorite is the Champion. Honestly, I understand that Space Marines are ridiculously OP compared to most of the races on a per a unit basis. But if you can not play as a Space Marine in the MMO, it will take away a lot of desire to play. They are my favorite thing about the 40K universe. Just love the massive power suits. They might release them as a "heroic" class like the death knight though if they are not a base playable race/class.

Dibs on obliterator cult >.> <.<

For those who are uninformed about obliterators they are chaos champions infected with a virus that lets them mutate any weapon they want out of their armor turned flesh.

Haha yeah cause ive already given up on the hope that id be able to play my favorite legion and i know there gonna run with one of the gods or black legion >.<. Besides what theyve explained of the story line the night lords wouldnt be here its not a setting where they would thrive. Fear tactics wouldnt work on a take and hold objective.

unless the goal was the scare the objective... to death XD

Night Lords are my favourite Chaos marine chapter ^^, though, if they are limiting us to one chapter... my bet goes to the Iron Warriors, on the chaos side anyway... being siege-specced, they are especially suited to a take-objectives style campaign... they also arnt limited to one god, and are much less fail compared to the black legion... and the word bearers... what the hell kind of battle cry is 'all praises' anyway >_<

though, like with the ultramarine movie... theres no guarantee theyll use the most ideal chapter for their purpose.

for the chaos marines, there are three chapters that serve Undivided. the Black Legion, which fails so hard no one likes them, and are lead by a utter failure. the Night Lords, which are awesome and focus on terror-tactics, but are more of a lightning force than anything static enough to take and hold objectives. and the Iron warriors, who serve Undivided, kick their fair share of ass, are siege focused, but are kind emo since their primarch basically ignores them, and conduct a large amount of in-fighting.
