Pre-orders started on Steam today, with a 10% discount and Beta Access. I wonder what other pre-order deals we'll see from other vendors. If you haven't heard, Global Agenda is a FPS MMO based on pvp control of zones like Planetside.

Eh its not really like Planetside. The whole game is a "lobby" with games that start up just like any other FPS. Think more along the lines of TF2 meets Sci-fi. There is no persistent open world fighting. Only a campaign map which is accessed through a lobby and predesignated times for fights.

The control zones are set up as just another fighting area in a instanced zone which groups of I think 8v8 or 10v10 matches take place which decide who controls the zone.

It's a good FPS and probably worth the 50 bucks but I don't think it'll be worth the 15 a month at all.

I understand you're excited and don't mean to burst your bubble, but Sokar is right on.

I'd like to mention it's not an MMO by any means. It's easy to throw the acronym with every online game these days but it's the incorrect term and plain misleading. Nothing like planetside (unless you mean sci-fi futuristic shooter), and when I played it was a third person shooter, not FPS (although it followed FPS controls).

CoD4 is probably more MMO than this game, as it supports more players in a game.

for the one time purchase I think it is worth buying. It was fun for a small while I played it, but not sure what other FPS-esque titles are out. Also, while you can go into first person mode I think the camera is thrid person short tether.

If I remember correctly, headshots didn't mean anything in this game. That made me sad.

But they have sniper rifles. You can't have sniper rifles without headshots right?

Yea headshots don't do anything, bullets have a pretty long delay, and its almost impossible to ever one shot someone with a rifle.

Did anyone here even play the game past alpha stage ? You know a lot can change between alpha stage and release.

During alpha there was only one small lobby where you sat and waited to get into game, but they also mentioned that there would be one bigger open world for PvP and all that, so who knows how the game is now.

We played it into the 2nd beta stage past the alpha phase when they had guilds fully implemented with their own lobbies and what not. There was a test a while back after they revamped the whole item system which was pretty fail but we only had a couple of us playing.

As always you are an idiot. The things we have posted have never and will never change about the game. The devs themselves said it many times while we fought in their forums to change it. So no its not opinions, its fact.

They also said that there would never be open world pvp only the instances. Fact too. Only players(kyoji initially suggested it in the forums) hinted at open world PvP which was shot down by the devs saying instances only.

That's it now? Namecalling from the guy recommending Battleswarm for weeks of fun. Feel free not to post in my threads if you can control yourself.

I try not too but since you enjoy posting bs info on games you know nothing about I try to clear up the air for people interested. But I can see your reading skills are low in the first place so I'll stop here.

Anyways, I'm interested in this game. And there seems to be some sort of open world with world PvP so they say. Either way this looks like my type of game.

I'm wondering if I can pre-order just to try beta and cancel it if I don't like the game. I don't really know how steam works.

I think this is possible with Amazon but not sure about Steam. Frankly I wouldn't even try to get a refund from Steam. I have never tried it but it's just a feeling I have that it'll never happen.

So is Xen gonna skip Global..? Been talking to some of AC and old Vin as should have some of the old AC folks back on the servers breaking all the beta's.....Its a fun shooter in my eyes but as for 15 a month...erm....yah.....its not planetside.
I am already preordered as I like a game I can long in, get a few pug matchs and then log off but with STO I figure I'll have even less time, But for only 40 bucks I was like why not.
