Affecting most older models, ie. non-slim ones.

<<Aside from having PSN not connect to the internet, some have been noticing that the date has changed on their system, trophies are vanishing, and that many of their games aren't working properly. This has caused a panic among many PS3 owners, though. Oddly, only PS3 owners with the original "fat" model are having problems -- all Slim models work fine. With such a random system crash occurring for unknown reasons, many are wondering what is happening and why a strange error code has been coming up.

If your tried to play any PS3 or PSN titles, you would receive the error code: 8001050F. The detailed explanation given was the following:

Registration of the trophy information could not be completed.
    The game will quit.
    (8001050F)>>

The console's date is set to january 1st 2000.

X360 had hardware faults. PS3 has software ones. I wish they would do a new console together, that would be fun :D

After a day being out of order, the BIOS clock of PS3 and reality have both agreed to display the same date, meaning they are functional again.

You can play with your PS3 without problems now.

  3. Strange...

I haven't pasted all the other infos that are on the net. The bug was concerned with the switch between 28th of february and 1st of March, and the abscence of a 29th of february 2010.

After those 24h of confusion for the console, things went back as normal.

Guess that's what you get for designing a hardware that is a pain to program for :) Can't even get a calendar right on the first try hehe.

  5. I'll gladly take one day of failure compared to 6-8 weeks after each red ring of death every few months on the failbox 360.

    Sure.
But what do you do about it ?

I mean, it's all dandy and all to bitch about a defective product, but what initiative do you take once you know that the X360's cooling is insufficient ?

Sit on your ass and wait for someone else's assistance when something go wrong ? Or take initiative and augment the cooling so it won't fail ?

My X360 is a 1st generation japan import. Just waiting for it to fail wasn't an option. Putting a PC fan at the back was my solution.
It never froze since then and keeps going.
There are 3rd party fan add-ons already made.

    Just do it.

Problem fixed itself after 24 hours.

  9. Why do they call it the xbox 360?

Because when you see it you'll turn 360 degrees and walk away.

I'm sorry, but the physics teacher in me can't resist pointing you to the fact that doing a 360 turn brings you right back to the start :D

360° is also synonymous with revolution :)

  11. I was hoping it was a bad joke :)

$599 was the SONY joke :)
And before it was : the PS2 will do Toy Story graphics in real time !!

  13. I love that animated gif! :)

  14. Why would I turn 360 degrees, only to turn 180 degrees later "and walk away?"

I guess if I wanted to give others the impression that I'm a) a clown or b) indecisive, or c) retarded, I would turn 360. Otherwise I would simply turn 90 degrees to the left/right or 180 to the rear.

  15. It only does Epic Fun? FALSE ADVERTISING!!!

    360° also equals 2╥ radians :)

  19. 360 is also the total number of days on average that people have waited for their new xbox consoles after the red rings of death.
